I always catch up on the thread, then I have to wait for awhilefor the swelling to go down in my eyes before I can post.
Y'all are truly something else!
The way it stands right now is that I'll go for the tests to begin the chemical treatments in two weeks. They wanted three weeks healing time from the abdominable surgery to the test time.
As Nana has described, the chronology of events since I last posted was pneumonia, (four day hospital stay), twisted and perforated colon (seven day hospital stay) and pneumonia (four day hospital stay).
The perforated colon was caused by a little animal called divers articulitis. He is mean! He allowed poison to spew into my body cavity for four days before I gave up and went to the emergency room.
The doctor saw me at seven and operated at eleven.
I'm wearing a colostomy now and I'll have it for another two months then they'll put my pipes back together.
The colostomy sounds gross, but it's no big deal.
I'm still a Marine.
We adapt and conquer.
I sometimes think God must have decided that simply throwing cancer at me wasn't enough of a challenge. He knows I'll beat that.
He decided to test me with a bunch of rocks in the road, and that's okay. I accept His will.
With the number of friends I have praying for me, I have no fear.
WE SHALL OVERCOME!!
Thank you, friends, and may the Good Lord bless each of you.
Hi TexasCowboy,We are with you ,
Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow your healing hand to heal TexasCowboy . Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring TexasCowboy,
health in body and spirit that he may serve You with all his strength. Touch gently his life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.
God bless you, TC! You are a real trooper, and you'll beat this! So good to hear from you.
More prayers on the way, TC. Will be thinking of you and missing you at our annual picnic this weekend.
Good to have family with you too.
TC, We know you're still a Marine and if you weren't so tough for all those nasty bugs to chew on, you'd be dead from that perforated colon. However, this situation is such that you must not just "grin and bear it", when you should be going to the doctor! It's not even a strategic retreat to do that, it's what they call nowadays, "force protection". Please do it. We need your force protected.
That's an order!
Besides, several people here want to fire that new "serious social purposes" shotgun of yours, but they want to do it with you at their side .... well, maybe well behind them in the cases of certain persons who shall remain nameless. :)
See post 6,039.
TC is back on line!
It is hard for me to imagine anyone in more pain than I had at the time, yet your situation dwarfed what I was facing. You are an incredibly strong and defiant man. More challenges face you, yet you keep your strong spirit and determination. It's an inspiration to us all.
Hang in there, buddy.
'divers reticulitis' ...stay away from nuts!!!!
glad you are well enough to get on and look around. I don't know you except my FRiends know you and care for you a lot - so therefore, I do too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH HAPPY DAY, OHHH HAPPPY DAAAAY!
Welcome back, you old phart! Most excellent news tonight! I can't tell you how great it is to hear directly from you! Ohhhh, you just made our day around here!
Now try to keep moving, upright, so those lungs stay healthy and clear. BTW, did you ever get a pneumonia shot?? I have to take them regularly (every 5 yrs), and that was the first thing I thought of when I heard you had pneumonia. If not, ask your doc if you can get one now.
Love and hugs and sloppy kisses,
G
Welcome back!
You continue to be in my prayers and will be until you are healed and back home in Texas! God bless you and yours. Prayers to Faith, too, as I know she's having problems, too.
You have all of our love Brother and the TC-Team is ready for action.
I plan to visit yer place this coming weekend to check that it is ok.
Get better TC as Texas is a little bit empty without you.
It is wonderful to hear from you, Cowboy.
We continue praying for you and ask the Lord to give you strength to overcome all of the hurdles he throws at you. We already know you have the determination.
Looking forward to getting all of this behind you so you can come up to Fresno for a nice visit.
We spoke once. Your thoughts, directed to me were so kind and good. And you were enduring so much. I knew then, why you are so loved. Thank you. God Bless You, Marine :)! Get well! My prayers for you. :)
You're in my prayers, pal.
