Prayers for TexasCowboy!
TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.
Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.
So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.
Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!
Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.
Thanks TC,for this wonderful update!
My prayers are with you always!!
Just got back to computer after 4th of July picnic!
I would LOVE an autobiograhy from LadyX, but, if she is stubborn, I do believe a BIOGRAPHY is called for...
She makes me laugh, think, cry, and feel wonderful, all in one post sometimes!
I say we lock her up until she agrees!!! LOL
However, my printer has for some time had a digestive problem, very often scarfing up more than one sheet and jamming - - ah, the frustrations of life!
That problem is somewhere in the Priority Pike to solve 'another day'..:))
It surely is vital we record some of the things in our lives for our progeny -- in my case, I last saw my mother in 1961 when I was just 27. The boys (6 & 7) and I had been visiting my parents in Florida and flew to South Dakota to join my husband - had a baby girl there 9 months later and then went directly to Fairbanks, Alaska for 3 1/2 years.
In January 1964, Mom was stricken with an aneurysm that burst...in the hospital on a Saturday before the scheduled Monday surgery to prevent it...she was rendered blind, unable to speak and paralyzed except for faint movement of her left hand, and died in July of 1965. No opportunity for stories in that interval, of course, nor to even hear her voice, or to see her.
Nan and sleuth - be sure you give your children an overview of your lives!
It's Something Everyone Should Do..:))
Now -- while TC has so much down time, don't you think we should him to start on HIS stories??!!
[any resemblance of the figures in the graphic to LadyX,
Nan the Nag and sleuth is purely coincidental..:)]
It is so good to hear from you Cowboy.
I know you will have a rough few weeks but with our prayers and God's help, I'm confident you will whip this demon.
Prayers for you, Faith and her husband.
Looking forward to your next report. God Bless you.
TC, here's hoping that you double your stamina everyday and are able to toss the wheel chair aside ASAP.
Prayers for you, Pard.

Anyone have some bright ideas??
Cowboy Jake
Jake, the rancher went one day, To fix a distant fence. The wind was cold and gusty; The clouds rolled gray and dense.
As he pounded the last staples in And gathered his tools to go, The temperature had fallen; The wind and snow began to blow.
When he finally reached his pickup, He felt a heavy heart; From the sound of that ignition, He knew it wouldn't start!
So Jake did what most of us would do, Had we also been there. He humbly bowed his balding head And sent aloft a prayer.
As he turned the key for one last time, He softly cursed his luck. They found him three days later, Frozen stiff in that old truck.
Now Jake had been around in life And done his share since birth. But when he saw Heaven, he was shocked -- It looked just like Fort Worth!
Of all the saints in Heaven, His favorite was St. Peter.
(Now, this line ain't really needed, But it helps with rhyme and meter)
So they set and talked a minute or two, Or maybe it was three. Nobody was keeping score -- In Heaven time is free.
"I've always heard," Jake said to Pete, "That God will answer prayer, But one time when I asked for help, Well, HE just plain wasn't there."
"Does God answer prayers of some, and ignore the prayers of others? That don't seem exactly square -- I know all men are brothers."
"Or does he randomly reply, Without good rhyme or reason? Maybe, it's the time of day, The weather or the season."
"Now I ain't trying to act smart, It's just the way I feel. And I was wondering, could you tell me -- What the heck's the deal?!"
Peter listened patiently, And when old Jake was done, There were smiles of recognition, And he said, "So, you're the one!!"
"That day! Your truck; It wouldn't start, And you sent your prayer a flying, You gave us all a real bad time, With hundreds of us all trying."
"A thousand angels rushed, To check the status of your file, But you know, Jake, We hadn't heard from you, in quite a long while."
"And though all prayers are answered, And God ain't got no quota, He didn't recognize your voice, And started a truck in Minnesota !"
BETTER KEEP IN TOUCH!
Received today the following "good 'un"!!!
Horse-Sense
Just up the road from my home is a field,
with two horses in it.
From a distance, each looks like every other horse.
But if one stops the car, or is walking by,
one will notice something quite amazing.
Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind.
His owner has chosen not to have him put down,
but has made a good home for him.
This alone is amazing.
Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell.
Looking around for the source of the sound, one will see
that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to her bridle is a small bell.
It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.
As one stands and watches these two friends,
one sees how she is always checking on him,
and that he will listen for her bell and then
slowly walk to where she is,
trusting that she will not lead him astray.
Like the owners of these two horses,
God does not throw us away just because
we are not perfect or because we have
problems or challenges.
He watches over us and even brings others into our lives
to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by God
and those whom he places in our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see God.
May we always stay attuned, never be blind nor deaf
to the needs of others,
and continue to pray for one another.
Thank you, TC, for being His catalyst for bringing
so many of us together here, reminded of
and acting upon the message.....

As for my writing my own story, I seem to have a problem recalling any of it. I can recall most things since I was born again, but my life before has been blocked with exception of a few memories of time spent with my grandparents. Besides my life was not as exciting as yours.
beautiful Sistah. Great sermon illustration.
Will be away in Aiken tomorrow again, and therefore late for JH2's Essay - will amble along there, and here, eventually..:))
Leading you into posting of The Night Shift Prayer,
I bid you good night, and God bless...
Thanks for reporting. Looking forward to reports of new vistas!
In my thoughts and prayers, El Roy!
My prayers continue for your recovery. God bless you and yours.
Prayer bttt and a thanks to you for holding down the night shift.
Let's all and crank up the prayers for TexasCowboy!
Lord, you know this fella and Your Plan for Him -- we have seen You act through him many times with his friends - and especially with that blessed child, Texas Termite.
We praise and thank you for steering him through many recent hard courses, and he faces an even bigger one next week.
Please lay Your hands upon him through it, Father, and allow him to continue living through and for You, according to Your will.
Amen.
Amen!
