Prayers for TexasCowboy!
TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.
Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.
So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.
Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!
Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.
Early morning prayer for Texas Cowboy.
Best to you, El Roy.....looking forward to a chat and a chuckle!
Father, keep us strong in this war against evil from without - and from within.
Let us be ever mindful that our actions and words must represent Your precepts.
Especially, Father, be with all those in harm's way --
This we pray in earnest every day -- Amen.
Let us be reminded that while we *talk* with Our Father,
it is equally isportant to stop and *listen* to Him - - -
Have a glorious Sabbath!
~ LadyX
Thank you LadyX!
LOL -- Thank you for not pointing out this:
"it is equally isportant to stop and *listen* to Him - - - "
I somehow managed to lisp important..:))
Anuther thought -- wish I could have *these fellas* and some friends in for the Fourth of July and "all the fixin's" --
Give 'em air conditioning and lots of iced tea, or the limeade I made last night...strawberry shortcake with Cool Whip and a blueberries on top...after the hamburgers and hot dogs and deviled eggs and potato salad and cold watermelon and more ---
I am thinking that a hugh picnic with all freepers next 4th of July--it is a little late to send invitations this year..
would be a hoot---I know I am daydreaming, but we could all gather at the TC Ranch...set him up at the head of the humungous picnic table...and all freepers salute this wonderful country and brave men and women that fight for it everyday!!!!
I'll bring the forks!!!
LOL

As some of you know I got out of the hospital a week ago, and I've been living with my daughter and her husband in Thousand Oaks since then. I thought everything would calm down once I got out of the hospital, but it hasn't.
Of course, Faith and her husband have adjusted their lives in any way possible to make it easier for me so it's just a matter of waiting for my Great Healer to fix all those that are rattling around loose in my leg. The strange part is the way the ligaments and muscles are trying to form enough scar tissue around the titanium rod to stabilize it. That feels weird!
Faith and I go to physical therapy three times a week. I have never been this lacking in stamina in my life. That twenty days on my back made me weak as a kitten.
It's getting better, though, one day at a time.
The sun is bright in southern California, and this day is perfect for me to ride the power wheel chair down to the little Thousand Oaks Park and take advantage of those gentle breezes God is providing. There are lots of kids down there so I'm going to borrow some of their energy until I can make some of my own.
God bless you, friends. I still have about a week to go before I can start my chemo treatments, so this battle is barely started.
Thank you for hanging in with me.
Your prayers have sustained me in this battle, and I count on your strength as we go forward every day.
One thing I try to remember every day:
We have had no setbacks! God has kept us on a pace of postive progress, and He will be there to finish the job!
Oh, what a wonderful Sunday gift---a post from you Cowboy!!
I know it must have tired you, from what you posted about your stamina...sounds like you need to eat your Cheerios!!! LOL
It sounds like the park that is close by is a perfect place to pass the time while you rehabilitate and those pesky cells are multiplying and creating new tissue to cover the titanium rod...
I am sure though anxious to finish "treatment" that you aren't looking too forward to chemo, but I was just on an thread with a freeper that just finished chemo for leukemia, and he said it didn't really make him nauseous, so hopefully, that will be the same in your case...
If I were you, I would also enjoy the cool ocean breezes, because we are having a very hot, dry summer so far in Texas...I would love an ocean breeze right now.
I am gonna add some extra special prayers today...I'm thinking if all of us on this thread do that, your energy level just might shoot up!!!
Prayers UP, way UP, Cowboy
and a wonderful Independence Day to you and your family!!!

Prayers up Brother!
Hey, we get a double "Independence Day" this weekend!
Give Faith and her husband an extra hug this evening, from me. You are blessed to have them.
There's a whole 'nother mess of folks out here calling themselves Team TC that are working for you. I am so privileged to be associated with them, in just the smallest way..
Prayers continue for your healing & for your sanity as the process occurs. thanks for checking in w/update!!
Be certain we'll not let down our guard and our watches, El Roy. Persistent we are, and steady as she goes, alongside you in this Major Battle --
"Understand* the astonishment over how weak one can become, and in short order, that 'one' step is a Big Deal...and ...how getting up from a sitting position can be achieved only with a 'two hands pushing up' thing.
One is able to laugh while you're stuck down on the floor, since you figured out long ago to *always* be near enough to a chair/something to drape over the seat/arm and pull yours legs up under you enough to get up... (that's why I put off yard work this Spring for a long time, until I gained some strength back.)
Thank you for the update, TC, and please keep us posted so we can direct our prayers according to exactly what you face.
Sending "snooches" - lol - and - -
Great to hear from you, TC.
Your comment about the stamina issue brings back memories of the caution my dr gave me prior to the last procedure I had - "You will be fatigued for 6 months."
I figured I'm relatively healthy, I'll bounce back in a month, tops. Long story short, she was right.
Take it easy, my friend. GOD has a healing process that does indeed take extra time by our clocks. Praying for you.
Hugs and Love to you, sweet Lady Maggie!
Sounds like your body is working hard to get reorganized around the new kid on the block. A very good sign! That's where your energy is going right now, TC. All you have to do is relax, eat plenty of meat and veggies for fuel, take your vitamins, and keep your upbeat attitude. Sunshine, fresh air, and prayer work wonders.
God has richly blessed you with a wonderful daughter and son-in-law, TC. Love is a great healer!
God bless all of you.
Wonderful news E! Keep working on getting your strength back so you can come home..we miss you!
