WorldNetDaily Article: Granddaughter yanks grandma's feeding tube
Many more links coming....
"If you agreed with that, and it turned out Hitler said it(*) would that imply that you agreed with Hitler on any broader issues?"
It proves how Hitler tricked the Germans, does it not?
"The argument presented was illogical...it was fallacious...it was improperly constructed...not valid...how much clearer can I say it?"
The logic is that Hitler tricked the masses. It's a very appropriate test of how easilly people can be tricked the same way today. You might not approve of the 'ethics', but I did not lie. I proved a point, quite effectively.
Thank you for the great ping! Praise God!
"Do you understand why Guilt By Association is not a valid demonstration that two things are similar?"
It was more a question of 'guilt by agreement'. [This debate is pretty fun, BTW]
History repeats itself, and I was using the leftist as a test rat to see exactly how seductive Hitler's argument was. And then I rubbed it in. I didn't say 'Bush said..." I didn't say "Clinton said..." I just read the statement. It was a 'mystery speaker'.
I presume you are referring back to the earlier quoted statement, rather than the hypothetical one I posited?
It does, which is why it should raise caution flags. The fact that someone proposes or agrees with a very bad idea, however, does not imply that the individual is a bad person. Many people agree with very evil notions because they are too naïve to see how evil they are. Only if someone is wantonly indifferent to the evils of the ideas they support should they be judged as being evil themselves.
Oh I agree absolutely. Germany was not an evil nation, no more than the death trolls of today. It's the slime buckets who manipulate them, that's what's evil.
FReegards....
It's all a minor point anyway about the tube being pulled or denied, anyway. All the same. If that's all people can complain about, then WND would be far beyond any other news source. FReegards....
Hey, Thank You so much for the links!!! I do have some comments and questions but want to review them again. Wanted to ping ya and let you know that I am reading them and appreciate them sooo much!!!
Smile, eat, drink, relax for a little awhile. Mae finally can.
I am not saying you're lying. Logical fallacies don't mean lies...they mean poor reasoning.
Let me try to illustrate one reason why your method makes your reasoning look bad...
So let's try your same "proof" on another example...
No problem. Lemme know if there is any question I can answer.
Mae Magouirk is back on nutrition, and the judge has awarded guardianship to the murderous granddaughter with the condition that she FEED and take care of her grandmother.

Now, lemmesee - do I want to be gullible or evil? I think I'd rather to even be naive and not evil, even if that is what I would be.
Gondring- not one good soul on all the Terri Shindler or Mae M. threads has ever proffered- your blind "life at all costs" stance. Yet, you have argued for the death of Terri& Mae by no uncertain terms. Your supposed "questing for the facts" is the reason for my statements to you. Play the fool with yourself and your ilk, in the mean time- some folks will move heaven & earth to save the lives you would just as soon discard. Now, is that explained enough, or would you prefer the long version? Interesting events today, eh? The next six months will be even more so...
typo- "Terri Schindler" not " Terri Shindler."
I'm not arguing your point at all (though I can, if you want). I'm saying that your "proof" is no proof at all.
I could say, "The moon is NOT made of green cheese because Wisconsin doesn't make green cheese" and it would be a stupid statement to make to support my point. But that doesn't address whether the moon is or is not truly made of green cheese.
Please re-read what supercat wrote...though I disagree with his opinions much of the time, he does a good job explaining.
Now to compare this slippery slope with Europe. Euthanasia is becoming more and more normalized out there.
There's a difference between voluntary and involuntary euthanasia. That difference is respect for an individual's preferences. We need a culture of respect, not just a culture of life. Both cultures of life (at all costs) and death are cultures of disrespect.
Yep...and airlifted out! Cool... that means the docs decided she could survive the ordeal. :-)
You may say that they are not good souls, but I disagree. I think that the "life at all cost" FREepers are good-hearted people, but they either don't understand the negative effects of their stance, or they feel that the need for it (e.g., to avoid a slippery slope, or to follow the church's policies) overrides the compassionate stance. I disagree with them and consider them misguided, but I wouldn't say they aren't "good souls" for it--their lack of compassion or respect for individuals is not out of malice.
Yet, you have argued for the death of Terri& Mae by no uncertain terms
WHAT?!?! I have called in SUPPORT of "Mae"--having her living will respected!!! Where in the heck do you get the idea I was arguing for her death?
I'm old enough to remember when abortion was made legal by the Supreme Court. The press said that there would not be more than 100,000 abortions a year. Thirty-five million dead babies later, we see that the liberals lied.
Don't kid yourself. Terri's death was used to hype the Living Will. This gives judges the power over life and death, because in the GA case, the judge clearly ruled against the stipulations of this woman's wishes. Judges do that, you know.
Our worthless legislators need to get some laws protecting the lives of those with a Living Will in place, because euthanasia is obviously the next big thing for the culture of death. In our utilitarian world, the elderly will be just as defenseless as the unborn child is, as others decide who will live and who will die based on convenience and "quality of life" criteria.
