This speech quite clearly took years to write, and was certainly worth it.
It should be printed up into a pamphlet and circulated far and wide over our country.

Thanks for all you do, John. It was great meeting and talking with both you and JimRob today.
We (my daughter and I) met a lot of great freepers today and it was the best fun we had in a long time together.
Here's a pic we will cherish forever:

On my way home from work tonight I heard a speech that Jim Wallis gave here in Mpls today(yes I know he's a big time lefty). (If memory serves) "There are a lot of politicans in Washington that spend their days walikng around with a wet finger in the wind. Trying to discover what we want. We're not going to change this country by simply replacing one wet fingered politician with another. We need to change the wind.

Brilliant and moving. I have but one quibble: "Now we are in the midst of a war over our Constitution. No shots will be fired. No cities attacked. But make no mistake, this is a war. If we lose it, our Constitution will die."
I'm afraid that shots will have to be fired to save the Constitution because it's becoming increasingly clear rational debate and winning elections will not protect the document from those that choose not to defend it on either side of the aisle.

It was GREAT! Y'all should have been there. The speakers were terrific, the get togethers were a riot, and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. And there were Freeper celebrities in abundance We were there! As soon as hubby comes home to show me how to post pictures, I have a wonderful shot of Congressman BillyBob with the Capitol Building right behind him. Slight, if I'd known that was you, I'd have come over to say hi and check to see if the Pope is still Catholic . Demi

Replace Ann Coulter with Laura Ingraham. Laura at least clerked for the Supreme Court.

McConnell v. FEC in 2003. That was the Campaign Finance Reform case.
My take on this (backed up by absolutly nothing. One mans take freely given and worth almost that much)
The Congress and the President both thought I can get some good press out of this and the USSC will overturn it so no harm done. It gets to the Court and the Court (or some members) think we're tired of the other two branch throwing this kind of crap in our laps and expecting us to clean up their messes. So they say it's constitutional, throwing it back to Congress.
Now What are YOU(and I) going to do? We can sit here and bi*ch and complain piss and moan, ooorrrr we can start putting pressure on these clowns. Everytime they come home to eat rubber chicken, and tell us what they're doing ask them what are you doing about BCFRA. Again and again and again..... mentioning the magic word to politicians money.

Gosh, I hope you meant Rehnquist instead of Scalia. I REALLY hope nothing is wrong with Scalia!
