Greg Burke is the Fox guy in Rome, who was swept away in the emotion of the moment. THey had to cut to Greg Palkot and Rick Levinson. After a few minutes G. Burke got his emotions in check. Tho, I have to admit that as the Papal Gentlemen turned and brought the coffin into the basilica, I shed a tear. We won't see the likes of JPII again. Felt the same way about Reagan. BUT in the same way W is great in his own way, another Pope will come along that we will grow to love.
You shall cross the barren desert
But you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety
Though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words to foreign men
And they will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.
Chorus:
Be not afraid, I go before you always,
Come follow me, and I will give you rest.
If you pass thru' raging waters in the sea
You shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames,
You shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the pow'r of hell
And death is at your side,
Know that I am with you - through it all.
(Chorus)
Blesses are the poor
for the Kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn,
For one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of me,
Blessed - blessed - are you!
(Chorus)
Sure Meek, I just now saw you. Good morning.
It was all in Latin, excepting the First Readings. Also the final blessing was done by Eastern Rite bishops so that may have been in another language. Don't know for sure.
I love that hymn, Mo1.
I know you do too.
Thnaks for sharing it with everybody.
I ended up sticking with CNN - not much talking, their translator was good, and their camera work was stunning, much better than the others.
Every time I switched to MSNBC or FOX someone was either babbling or the camera was jiggling terribly.
LQ
Beautiful. Sums it all up.
I'll second that
Thank you for this thread and the pings
Another sign that Bush has class and taste. No partying with the assembled world leaders, no press conference, no publicity, just the respects due a strong ally of the Republic.
I hope they send Klinton back by DHL.
That their pilgrimages to Mecca pale in comparison to this one event? That all their posturing and careful planning of public gatherings look amateurish compared to Christianity and its allies meeting on *very* short notice?
Who knows, but I think I saw a couple of Axis-of-Evil types looking very shaken up by the experience.
Bill Sammon is on FNC right now reporting
I just read the Bill Sammons thread....Clinton just can't pass up a camera...he still believes *it's* all about him...
I'm listening now.......He's one of my favorites.
They were showing the clips of the casket coming through the door at the beginning of the mass, and in the closeup, you could see the 24k gold nails nailed into the cover of the casket.
After the funeral mass, his coffin will be carried back into St. Peter's Basilica and laid to rest in a crypt after first being enclosed in a zinc coffin and finally an oak casket.
Interesting that they would remove him from the cedar casket on display in the square.
why do you think the the temple has to be rebuilt before "the Gosple is preached in all the world" matthew 24:14 s time line dosn't seem to indicate that...
What did he say, by the time I changed the channel, his cell phone cut out..
there are encore tomorrow. I'll post them.
