Kroger stores done that in western Michigan, about twenty years ago.. the unions kept demanding more and more.. and those hi paid clerks and etc, were happy to work for Woolworths at minimum wage.....I am tired of all the Wal Mart bashing.. people have a choice as to where to shop, let me have my choice..

I agree. My sister, who was retired, decided to go back to work for a few hours each day, just to get out some. She got a job at Wal Mart. She has nothing but good things to say about how she is treated as an employee. I discussed this Wal Mart bashing with her once. She said that Wal Mart ain't exactly filled with rocket scientists type employees. My sister was an accountant and tax prep, handling, type person. She said that most of the people there are just simple, every day people, who are happy to have a job, some type of benefits, etc. She said you ain't gonna get rich there, but the choice of having no job or having a job is up to you. You prepare for it, the job and life, yourself. If you only prepare your life for a Wal Mart floor job, or hamburger flipping job, then expect to be paid wages at those levels, and not as the NASA rocket scientist. She said that most who bash Wal Mart, don't have all the facts, only those "bad" things that everyone wants to point too. And, you can point to bad things in almost all jobs and positions!
