President Bush will view the body of Pope John II immediately upon his arrival Wednesday from Washington, Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said.
Bush and a U.S. delegation that includes two former presidents were flying to Rome late Wednesday to attend Friday's funeral, along with kings, presidents and government leaders from some 100 countries.
It was not immediately known if other heads of state would view the body, which has been lying in state in St. Peter's Basilica since Monday afternoon.
Dignitaries were being allowed to skip the massive line of pilgrims that snaked down a wide boulevard, through ancient alleyways and onto a bridge.

Naw, make him go to the end of the line. I hate line-cutters. What is it, something like a 24 hour wait?

I wonder if Clinton walks in with daddy Bush or alone. I thought Clinton was not given an audience with the Pope during his Presidency? It was the Pro Choice factor. Why is he allowed now? I'll say it again, it's disgusting how the Bush family is allowing this skunk to use them.

Maybe the Bushes think the a little religion would do Slick some good. Slick's Southern Baptist church in Little Rock threw him out!

I heard on the radio earlier today that there may be over 1 million people in line! I don't know if that's just hyperbole from over excited reporters or not, but I did hear that the line is now longer than anyone ever expected.

Makes me think the 'Toons have something on the Bush's. Tinfoil aside, remember Hillary had all those FBI files and I'm betting she had them copied and stashed. Have to clear the way for Hillary in '08 you know. I'd give my eye teeth to be a fly on the wall when the 'Toon and Daddy Bush get together.

worse than that... he DID get an audience, and JPII said SlickWillie didn't pay attention to what he was saying and that he was more interested in looking around at what was on the walls than to what was being said.

Actually, Clinton and the Pope met several times; including one bizarrely in january, 1999, during the Lewinsky trial.

With all due respect to the deceased Pontif....I don't think I'd really want to see his body since he was allegedly not embalmed.
Death is never a good site (except for dead terrorist scum), but a four-day, unpreserved body just cannot be pleasant.

CNN reported that President Bush arrived in Rome about 30 minutes and is on his way to the Vatican which they will carry live.

The Bushs respect the office of President which is why they're nice to Clinton. They may not like him personally but they're not going to publicly disrespect him.

I don't know if that's just hyperbole from over excited reporters or not, but I did hear that the line is now longer than anyone ever expected. 2 million are expected in Rome for the funeral....from Poland alone!

Choir is singing "O Sanctissima" which many Protestants know as a Christmas carol. Laura and Condi are in black suits with lace mantillas.

Bill can be a charming guy when he wants to. No question he has charmed the Bushes. I don't have a problem it. It's his wife I worry about more.
