Neo fascist Republicans are squawking like wet hens now that a United States Senator, Robert Byrd, has stepped up and called them what they are - NAZIS! The parallels between the Bush/Delay/Frist rise to power and the Hitler/Boermann/Goerring rise to power are too similar to overlook. Robert Byrd is old enough to remember that Hitler rose to power by manipulating the hate, fear, and greed of the German public. Aided by powerful corporations (and Prescott Bush), Hitler was able to change the laws of Germany and turn it from a democracy into a one-party fascist state. Those who want to trash our Constitution with garbage amendments and destruction of safeguards built into the system by the founding fathers are nothing more than a new brand of fascist. Using the words of Christ as an excuse to attempt to destroy our system of government which was designed to insure the separation of church and state, they will stop at nothing to fuel their fundamentalist jihad against any judge, candidate, or senator who stands in their way. These people need to seek help. They are allowing themselves to be manipulated by the standard Republican tools of hate, fear, and greed. By selling out for a $250 dollar tax rebate, they have allowed the Republicans to pick the taxpayers pockets for hundreds of billions of dollars. The international corporations who fund candidates like Bush and Schwarzenegger are laughing all the way to the bank as the trailer trash hillbillies in the red states stampede to the latest conservative circus act put on to distract them from the wholesale pillaging of the US Treasury that proceeds as you read this. That's right, cry for Terry Schiavo while Tom Delay and Dick Cheney sell off the National Parks to the highest bidders. None of these neo-con Christo-fascists has ever taken a minute to look up the thoughts of Benjamin Franklin or Thomas Jefferson on the relationship between religion and government, preferring the words of the drunken rednecks at the local bar to guide their opinions. Stupidity is inadequate to describe the minds of most Republicans. AMERIKA UBER ALLES!

Robert "KKK" Byrd was once a Ku Klux Klan Wizard. If anyone is a Nazi it's him.

Ah the irony of a former KKK recruiter calling anyone else a Nazi.

Rule #1. When liberals want to take down an effective adversary they attempt to demonize him and then fabricate history to back them up.

Whats really interesting is that you really believe the cr*p you are trying to sell.
The people on FR always question the news to see if it passes the smell test. You may need to go back to your beloved DU and look to see if there are people that have the Facts or just rely on rants and raving of their favorite Op-ed journalist.

Can't you MoveOn.org agents at least TRY to make sense?
Pathetic mind numbed robots, instructed to harass a nice free speech, free thoughy website like Free Republic. Go back to your intellectual/moral hellhole at DU.

Robert Byrd is old enough to remember that HitlerWhen Americans like Strom Thurmond reliquinshed his judge's robes to parachute into Hitler's empire and end the tyranny Robert Byrd was busy back in West Virginia recruiting additional members for the KKK. In a 1947 letter, after Mr. Byrd had been elected to the state senate, he wrote that he would "never submit to fight beneath that banner (the American flag) with a Negro by my side (of course he didn't bother to fight in a segrated military in WW2 either). Rather I should die a thousand times, and see old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds." Byrd and Hitler share a racist fetish, and it's both amusing and sad to see this man who shied from the duty others carried now try and smear them with his own philosophical bedfellows.

Here kitty, kitty:
In the supposed state of nature, all men are equally bound by the laws of nature, or to speak more properly, the laws of the Creator.
Samuel Adams, Father of the American Revolution, Signer of the Declaration
[T]he laws of nature . . . of course presupposes the existence of a God, the moral ruler of the universe, and a rule of right and wrong, of just and unjust, binding upon man, preceding all institutions of human society and government.
John Quincy Adams
The law of nature, which, being coeval with mankind and dictated by God Himself, is, of course, superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times. No human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this.
Alexander Hamilton, Signer of the Constitution
