Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, the well-known forensic pathologist and coroner of Allegheny County, Pa., told listeners of a morning radio show that he was denied permission to observe Terri Schiavo's autopsy, despite the wishes of her parents.
A medical examiner in Pinellas County, Florida, is conducting an autopsy that could help determine what Schiavo's state of consciousness was and whether she was abused by her husband, as the Schindlers allege. Wecht, appearing on the syndicated America's Morning Show with Quinn and Rose, based in Pittsburgh, said that an investigator working for the Schindler's law firm had called him on Thursday to see whether he would be agreeable to observing the autopsy.
Dr. Wecht told Quinn and Rose he was certainly be agreeable to that, but that several hours later he received word that the medical examiner had declined to give him permission.
Dr. Wecht told the morning hosts that he considered this a mistake, according to Rose Somma Tennent. "He said that, if this were in [his] office, [he] would have said sure - not just because of professional courtesy, but because of the controversy sourrounding this case," Somma Tennet said.
Calls made during the show to the medical examiner's office were not returned.
The results from the autopsy are expected in a few weeks.
"Nothing will come of this autopsy. They got the diagnosis they wanted, and they will get the autopsy report they wanted."
You're exactly right. Otherwise, it would prove all these so called experts were wrong and participated in murder. And that ain't gonna happen.
Cannot the same state authorize witnesses?
And Schiavo will want his as well, to make sure that there is no funny business on the part of his in-laws. The local medical examiner is a neutral third party. I'll let them report findings.
^^^^^^^
If there are not three pathologists present, then it will be assumed that the coroner is not an impartial physician, but a partisan pal of Greer, Felos, et al.
Ummm...I know he has good credentials, I was the one that posted that bio to you a few days ago...and all I said was that it was "interesting" that he was a speaker on that subject. I even said yesterday that we should not bash him until after we review the report,as others were saying he was in MS's pocket without basis. Not allowing Wecht to merely observe, however, does cause me to be concerned.
Also, there is this webpage that has some information embedded in it ... LINK
Baden thought any examination of bones at this stage would be inconclusive as to whether there were intentional injuries.
Really.
You wouldn't happen to have a cite to any documentation of that, would you?
Find it yourself, I don't like you're attitude.
And I read the report of one of the guardians that paints a very different picture of Michael.
Tell them they are a bunch of murdering so and sos and run for your life? : )
(Sorry you are in the crosshairs....)
Poor Terri got taken over by The Pinellas County Swamp Club. Members only.
"...Michael is not warm and fuzzy,..."
Can I translate? "Michael is a flaming @$$hole."
LOL! I love it!!!
That would seem to be within his powers!!
If you are not feeling well, just ask for Room 174. They well take good care of you.
Are you "warm and fuzzy"?
BUMP
Here is another interesting tidbit. Jodi Centonze's brother was on one of the news channels recently with his wife. The wife is a nurse who was one of Terri's caregivers at one of the former places she stayed (not in the hospice).
If this whole affair were not so painful and tragic, it would make a great plot for the next Carl Hiassen or Elmore Leonard novel.
