Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, the well-known forensic pathologist and coroner of Allegheny County, Pa., told listeners of a morning radio show that he was denied permission to observe Terri Schiavo's autopsy, despite the wishes of her parents.
A medical examiner in Pinellas County, Florida, is conducting an autopsy that could help determine what Schiavo's state of consciousness was and whether she was abused by her husband, as the Schindlers allege. Wecht, appearing on the syndicated America's Morning Show with Quinn and Rose, based in Pittsburgh, said that an investigator working for the Schindler's law firm had called him on Thursday to see whether he would be agreeable to observing the autopsy.
Dr. Wecht told Quinn and Rose he was certainly be agreeable to that, but that several hours later he received word that the medical examiner had declined to give him permission.
Dr. Wecht told the morning hosts that he considered this a mistake, according to Rose Somma Tennent. "He said that, if this were in [his] office, [he] would have said sure - not just because of professional courtesy, but because of the controversy sourrounding this case," Somma Tennet said.
Calls made during the show to the medical examiner's office were not returned.
The results from the autopsy are expected in a few weeks.
Of course not. Wecht is a media hound, which is why the Schindlers chose him.
He'd be on with a talking head an hour after he leaves the examining room, undermining Thogmartin's work.
I hope so, too. The sooner the better.
Wow, I didn't know that! I watch on A&E too. That is one of the few shows I watch. I stay on Fox most nights, until Crossing Jordan comes on. I even have my husband hooked on it..LOL
These people have been obstructionists every step of the way!
I agree. Starting to?? This has been suspicious from the beginning. I'll second your WTF !!!!!!!
If you are correct, then the ME will be the first one to be labelled as such ("neutral").
Hello, Saundra-
Most likely! And everyone from Felos to greer and right up the chain to the Gov has it in THEIR best interest for the M.E. to say, "Yep. Brain damaged beyond any hope. No sign of possible abuse at all."
It's already fixed. That's why the can't have an outside examiner in there.
Slime. Scum. Filth. Evil. Yes, even the Gov.
It sure wouldn't look good for the Gov to have allowed the execution of a woman who's only crime was she lived in Florida, and experienced abuse in the past. Wouldn't look good for the coward.
Filth.
Why should anyone trust an autopsy from officials in that county?
Are the Governor's hands STILL tied?
Odd Odor? THIS STINKS OUT LOUD!!!
The Incompetence of Medical Examiner Joan Wood
Confidence in the trial outcome has been further undermined by recent revelations that Joan Wood, the Pinellas County Medical Examiner who provided key evidence against Mr. King at trial, was incompetent and may have engaged in a pattern of scientific fraud in criminal cases. (Read On)

I thought the report that only Michael gets to see is the one from DCFS.
That's my question too .. it seems everybody else in that county is acting very suspicious.
But .. I'm not surpised.
I WILL TELL YOU ALL RIGHT NOW WHAT THE REPORT WILL SAY.
"BRAIN DEAD. NO CHANCE FOR REHABILITATION TO BE SUCCESSFUL. NO PAST ABUSE. NO EXPLANATION FOR THE FRACTURES ON THE BODY. COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHEN SHE FELL AFTER SHE COLLAPSED".
Anyone can see where this crock of @#$% is headed. Good luck with the book Michael!!!!
