I would rather not say who for my privacy, but I am working for a US Senator and we have been innudated by calls all today in opposition to the nuclear option. The vote will be today. I am not concerned about the Senator I work for because he is a staunch conservative but if this is a national pattern of calls (and I'm sure it is), it ought to be countered.
Everyone needs to call the offices, preferably DC, of their two Senators. I don't have time to look up the numbers for every one, but to get them, go to their homepages. Every Senator's address looks like http://frist.senate.gov, or http://reid.senate.gov, or http://kennedy.senate.gov, and so on and so forth. Call them now and express your support for the nuclear option. Thank you.
april fool ??
The calls couldn't hurt but there's nobody there. I can guarantee you my senators aren't.
I concur......
ahem...Chuckie is rabid...
It's not a nuclear option--it's a consitutional right.
Done. Called/emailed mine.
Please!! Your's don't compare. We've had a Kennedy in that seat since 1952 (except for the brief interregnum while we waited for Ted to turn 30). And Kerry. I don't even have to tell you about Kerry.
I didn't think the sarcasm tag would be necessary today.
Just for grins and giggles. The Senate was called back into session..when ? As far as I know it is still out on its Easter break.
The conservative movement decided that Terri Schiavo was far more important than the nuclear option, and that's where they blew their political capital.
Mikulski and Sarbanes,,? I'm sure they'll vote for it....
Well, they're evil, and they're wrong about everything... but our Senator Boxer is all that plus STUPID.
Dan
Consider it ignored.
Are we suggesting that we call congressman who take their orders from little judges down in Pinellas County?
I am still waiting for the Contempt of Congress charge against those who obstructed Terri from appearing at a Congressional hearing on March 28. Still waiting.
I find it interesting that when the Dumbs first changed the rules to require 60 votes to break a filibuster no one in the MSM breathed a word of it. Now that the Republicans want to change it back to a simple majority, it is a "nuclear option"
E-mails sent - I can't call them from work.
Aw, I was gonna keep it a surprise, seeing as she'd do whatever I told her to (I've been keeping quiet for just such an occasion... it's part of her programming).
I can promise ya'll however that the vote is coming soon and there are people who are INNUDATING this office with calls. If we're getting 30+ calls at a district office then I'm sure DC is getting a lot as well. People need to call their Senators.
Switchboard line is (202) 224-3121. Thank you.
And to whoever accused me of being a newbie disruptor....I had a former SN for two years before changing it to this recently.
