This is a dark moment in the history of Western Civilisation. It was not a fascist regime which killed the weak and disabled, but the processes of a modern, functioning democracy. God help us all.
Regards, Ivan
you are right
It bears repeating.
Requiescat in pace, et lux perpetua luceat ei.
"This is a dark moment in the history of Western Civilisation. It was not a fascist regime which killed the weak and disabled, but the processes of a modern, functioning democracy. God help us all."
Perfectly stated. Thank you.
RIP, Terri. This issue is FAR from over as far as I'm concerned.
I don't believe something like this would be allowed to happen in a modern, functioning democracy.
It's the second darkest moment. The first was the passing of Roe vs. Wade.
Our judiciary is whacked top to bottom.
We Americans get to know everything about our own government's atrocities (this time perpetrated by the Judicial Branch). How much more accountable we must be. At least we haven't killed millions, like the NAZIs. No. Wait. Whe have killed roughly 40 million innccent, helpless human beings.
Moloch must be happy.
"This is a dark moment in the history of Western Civilisation. It was not a fascist regime which killed the weak and disabled, but the processes of a modern, functioning democracy."
Ditto.
This barbaric act makes me ashamed to co-exist in the same "civilisation" that those black-robed murderers pretend to rule over - sharing the same moral ground, now, as those who ran the Nazi death camps, or stood silently by while nothing was done.
This is truly horrifying.
Amen.
Well said. I would add Communist regime.
Iva...News here in Toronto reporting Prince Albert of Monaco has taken over the reigns...no new word on his father's condition yet.
Yes. And America has lost the moral authority to lecture other nations about their human rights abuses.
I completely agree. This is a dark day for the United States of America.

Did you hear the President's press conference? He handled it like a political hot potato, which it is. He came out with a statement of how we should err on the side of life and more mumbo jumbo (spent scant seconds on it) and then went into a song and dance, for the next several minutes, about how great a job he is doing on fixing Intelligence.
I don't think I have ever seen a more obvious attempt at changing the subject.
Dear Ivan, besides Michael-the-fiend Schiavo and his accomplice, Felo-the-lawyer, activist judges terrified of losing power were at the root of this mess. At the end, that judge from the 11th circuit court of appeals in Atlanta, when he turned the Schindlers down, scolded congress and GW for daring to try and go against decisions prior courts had made. How dare the congress pass laws that govern the judiciary! Fie on the balance of powers! In the squabble, an innocent life was not just lost, a woman was murdered by judicial fiat. This won't go away. There will be hugh repercussions, as there should be.
