Acceptance of hearsay evidence was one of the purposes of Terri's case. Now it is accepted in Florida as the right to withdraw tubes or "kill" those SOME CONSIDER UNWORTHY TO LIVE.

The end-of-life panel made recommendations for the State of Florida. They changed the rules so that the panel MADE law circumventing the legislature making laws. They changed the law to allow hearsay. (So much easier to find a neighbor that can be swayed to mention someone did not want to live after a stroke, etc. than to worry to find a distant relative).

This is very critical to all of us and our families. They are constantly changing the criteria of which should have care withdrawn. Do you wish a panel to change the laws in your state to enable killing your relatives?

Micheal Shiavo, the hospice, and the judge did not really want the parents in there at all...ever.

Ridiculous. If Michael didn't want the parents in there "at all...ever" then he had every legal right to keep them out. He allowed them to visit her.

They were asked to leave this morning so her condition could be checked and then Michael could visit her. Her family protested and Michael exercised his legal rights not to allow them to remain.

Lawyers give donations to judges all the time. It doesn't mean anything.

I agree and comparing Terri with Christ does a disservice to the right-to-life effort and the current effort to clean up the Judiciary and the laws.

Terri was murdered because the law is an ass and her "loving" hubby is evil and only worried about "his" quality of life, no one else's...

2.) When a man and a woman marry they leave their parents and cleave to one another. They become one flesh. The husband is the right one to make decisions about the spouse, not the parents. THat is God's order.

1) He is not her husband in reality. He has two children by a woman that he's been living with for years. He's divorced.

2) Secondly, neither a spouse nor parents have the right to murder a spouse or child, with or without consent. Think about it!

It is the duty of the State to defend the lives of its citizens. The right to life is the preeminent right. Without that right, we can have no others.

I find it very interesting the Michael's attorney has conceded she has died today. I thought their position was she died 15 years ago.

What if the constitution option is tried in congress, and the filibusters are stopped -- then a judge says unconstitutional. So long as the authority of the constitution is usurped by men and women in black robes telling us what we can and cannot do, we are not free.

Perhaps it would have been better that you started your own 'Pro-Michael Schindler "Right-to-Die" Thread' rather than grace this one (and provide the usual distractions) with this opinion.
