The only "machinery" she was hooked up to was a pump during her feedings. She was probably only hooked up to it during her sleep hours. The rest of the time it was plugged. NOT a big deal.
If I had any inkling that my husband was aware of his surroundings, no matter how limited, if I was convinced he was responsive, no matter how limited, if his limited actions and verbalizations expressed joy, no matter how limited, you can bet your bottom dollar I would not actively seek his death.
Terri was never going to be "cured" and I pray to God being cured of a brain injury does not become the gold standard for measuring quality of life. The chance to develop any potential she had was railroaded by her husband with the blessing of the court.
Had he allowed further testing and intensive rehab, I may be sympathtic. At best, she would have shown improvement. Worst case scenario would be status quo, no harm, no foul. But he did not so I am not. The chance to see what Terri was capable of doing has been lost forever.

If they don't have balls, then, our congress and president should pack it up. They will be deemed impudent! With judicial tyranny, It won't matter which party is in office. So far, the courts have contorted and usurped our Constitution and congressional enacted laws. If the courts aren't reeled in NOW as an equal part of government, we're all through! Because, these bastards in black robes won't stop, unless stopped by congress.

Sometimes when I wake up my brain is awake before my body and I can't move...and I try...gradually the rest of "me" wakes up but it's scary for a minute.What hell it must be.
