Sometimes blunt language is appropriate in response to asinine statements

May God care for Terri, and may He punish her murderers. If ever an innocent has died, it is her.

Sigh.................Terri was not a criminal. There was no Executive avenue to "pardon her."

I hope Terri rests peacefully and I pray for her and her family.

So do most of the rest of us, with the possible exception of people like "newzjunkey". The fact is, you say from your exalted position, Terri's parents used to visit maybe...MAYBE once a week. This is just one example of the arrogance of some people who claim supeior knowledge over the inferior "masses", as you put it. Unless you are a personal friend of the family and privy to their everday movements for the past ten years, you are blowing smoke. Or maybe you are one of the hospice workers who is priy to the visitor log for the past ten years? Spending "one day going back and forth on this topic" hardly qualifies for having knowledge supeior to the ignorant "masses".

It almost doesn't feel like FR over there. I haven't been around all that long, joined during election time, and I have always enjoyed visiting here every day. Having said that, this Terri Schiavo thing has made me very aware of some around here who have such enormous egos and an arrogance that is extremely distasteful.

The good thing is, you can avoid those folks, or just hop off the site if you want.

small hehe, sanjay on cnn seems to be backing off his earlier statements.

gee, too bad no one saw fit to do a more definitive study of Terri's brain function all this time. may this all be to the shame of those who have killed Terri.

I'm hoping they do leave. However, they are also acting like they are the only ones who donate to FR and are going to stop donating.

We all need to make sure we make up the difference and keep FR going.

Terri WAS dying.

Only in the sense that we all are. Terri Schiavo was killed.

"The law doesn't allow" is not an excuse Adams, Washington, Hamilton, or John Jay would except.

I agree. But this case is far worse. In this case the law does allow and oath even requires that the executive stand up to defend Terri:

Where are all the Federalists?

It's up to you. Keep up the fight.

You certainly did as much as you could possibly do, at least on this site,to prevent this "murder."

I, like you, am terribly saddened by this news, not only for Terri, her family, and her friends, but for America. This is a major blot to the morality of our country, and I'm afraid I can never regard our country in quite the same way I always have.

There is plenty of blame to go around: the bias of the media in prejudicing the nation against the holy sanctity of innocent life, judges with a perverted sense of "justice", the Schindler family not being well served by their legal representatives, and the culture of death gradually seeping across the country at the hands of the "elite intellectuals."

May G-d bless Terri Schiavo and her grieving family, and may G-d forgive the United States of America for this horribly barbaric act.

And if Michael Schiavo did not act in Terri's interests as he perceived them, may he be condemned to pay for his evil acts.

I totally agree with you, and I have been here since May of 2001. A belated welcome to you...there are still good people here, you just have to swim harder through the riff-raff than you used to :(

I guess blaming Jeb and the President is the easiest thing to do..........even if it's not the right thing to do.

Solving the problem is much more complex than sitting at a computer bashing Bushes is.

I have prayed and wept with you. There is much further prayer needed, and much work to do, and we must do it to save this country.

I have been utterly shocked by the things I have read over Terri Schiavo.

I have always tried to be respectful of people since I joined, no personal attacks, calling people names, etc. But I have had my intelligence insulted on more than one occassion just because I was in favor of life for Terri.

One thing I cannot stand in people is arrogance. I am a college educated person, not that that makes me superior in any way, but I am NOT stupid.

Fox news just said that they are going to do autopsy to determine what caused her death and what state her brain was in. What idiots!

Didn't read the whole thread. And don't agree with all their agenda points. But I do agree with this (somewhat modified) agenda, especially Point 5:

1. The discussion threads regarding Terri Schiavo (hereafter referred to as "TS") have become too full of innuendo, rumormongering, hyperbole, hysteria, namecalling, paranoia, and general poor behavior.

2. Said threads have degenerated into "echo chambers", wherein the same, common thoughts are continually posted again and again, and the same old disreputable, unconfirmed and/or false urban myths are propagated.

3. Anyone who joins in said theads with alternative viewpoints to the most extreme posts are routinely driven away with slander, accusations, and vile namecalling.

5. That the continued calls for armed insurrection, military or paramilitary involvement, impeachements of politicians and judges, and death threats are embarassing, stupid, shortsighted, doomed to failure, and contrary to most if not all conservative thought prior to this case, as well as damaging in the extreme to FR and the conservative movement as a whole.

7. That the holding up of swastika and other Nazi imagery towards the police and the Bushes and the use of children as political props can only reflect badly on conservatives in general, and should be discouraged.

Iustus Dominus in omnibus viis suis (Psalm 144: 17). "The Lord is just in all His ways."

Someone will pay and get punished for the unjust sentencing to death of Terri. I wish to look for ways to stop future unjust death's of the handicapped.

It's the judges, people. The judges are what are out of control.

Attacking our own only stregthens the Enemy.

Our own are not fighting back. They are wilting before our eyes. We must spur them on, light a fire beneath them. Jeb's inaction only further confirms the tyranny. His response will not do and he must be called to account for it!

If we do not, then we only confirm their inaction and throw up our hands just as they have done. Someone must stand up!!
