Those injuries did occur while she was hospitalized.
This is interesting information on the CT scan. There is no time limit on murder and the way I understand it, if the person dies later from injuries suffered earlier, the person responsible can be charged with murder.

It would be GREAT to send these on to the medical examiner, as well!
