This quake epicenter was southeast of Simelue Island, between it an Nias. Can't really be an aftershock then.
Looks like a possible repeat of the 1861 roughly 8.5 rupture...in which case if the media is checking Banda Aceh to see if there's a tsunami are making a big mistake...it would affect central Sumatra if there was one.
Local Thai news is reporting mass evacuations along the western coast of Thailand (Phuket, etc..). If something hits, they are expecting it within the next 2 hours.

Yes, this doesn't look good. You have earthquakes, the State sponsored Murder of Terri during Holy Week, which IMHO is satanic in nature & now more earthquakes. You also have several countries who have or about have nukes threatening us. Just another thought, God has used countries in the past to chastise others. Perhaps, the murder of Terri may be the last straw with God. Something to grasp.

CNN has a guy on the phone that is in Bangkok he felt it there but he says he called people in Phuket and they did not feel it.
The Thai are ready, the big thing is to clear the roads and shore of cars and boats, they became projectiles during the tsunami and caused lots of damage.
Warning of an impending natural disaster in Sri Lanka as well.

I am in BKK and it was very noticable (14th floor condo). Local news is reporting the quake was also very noticable in Phuket. The guy on CNN is full of it.

Oh, this stuff is infinitely modifiable for the kooks....they just say it's punishing the Bible Belt for not taking strong enough action against Abortion or gays or whatever....
LOL this is the funniest thing I have heard since the first time I read about the hollow earth "theory". I'm sorry but there are never any "special" strains that the earth undergoes to hold the moon in orbit. Earthquakes have MUCH more to do with the dynamic, and as far as we know unique to earth system of plate tectonics. Face it, we live on earth that is floating on a sea of magma, and it is not one solid sheet, it's several that rub up against each other, and even push themselves over one another. Every once in a while there are slips and bad things happen.
