Part 7 - EASTER SUNDAY -NO FOOD OR WATER 10-11TH DAYS- SHE'S FIGHTING TO LIVE [Schiavo]

After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.

Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.

Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.

The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

Do you think some long-time Republicans who hate this murder of Terri will sit out the 2006 mid-term elections in protest and to spite GWB? Or do you think the RNC will convince these voters to "come home" to deal another defeat to the mean Democrats?

The heading reads Fla state courts. But they're only elected by the counties they serve. Clear as mud.

The majority of jury trials in Florida take place before one judge sitting as judge of the circuit court. The circuit courts are sometimes referred to as courts of general jurisdiction, in recognition of the fact that most criminal and civil cases originate at this level

Organization
The Constitution provides that a circuit court shall be established to serve each judicial circuit established by the Legislature, of which there are twenty. Within each circuit, there may be any number of judges, depending upon the population and caseload of the particular area.

To be eligible for the office of circuit judge, a person must be an elector of a county within the circuit and must have been admitted to the practice of law in the state for the preceding five years. Circuit court judges are elected by the voters of the circuits in nonpartisan, contested elections against other persons who choose to qualify as candidates for the position. Circuit court judges serve for six-year terms, and they are subject to the same disciplinary standards and procedures as Supreme Court Justices and district court judges.

snip

Circuit courts have general trial jurisdiction over matters not assigned by statute to the county courts and also hear appeals from county court cases. Thus, circuit courts are simultaneously the highest trial courts and the lowest appellate courts in Florida's judicial system.

Amen.

Father God we look to you again this afternoon. We are seeing a miracle in Terri's endurance and strength in the worst of conditions. Thank you for giving all of us fresh hope today. Help us to believe in Your power, and to be encouraged by Your Word. Nothing is impossible with You dear Father. We, as Your children cry out to You for deliverance from this desert experience. Open yet the waters for us, dear Lord. We ask all in the name of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Well, for one thing, it might help if they stood up with a little moral outrage and said, despite what the courts are ORDERING, it is WRONG, it is MURDER, it is highly IMMORAL. We haven't heard that yet. We've just heard, "Gee, I tried."

It sounds like it. The page I read said Florida rehauled their court system in '73 to make it simpler. I laughed when I read it. :)

You're right:

1. Bush should have stayed in bed. Today is not his day, and he should have kept his mouth shut.

2. I think most of Rush's show was boring today, and I tuned out at the end.

Jeb is governor of the state with the most retired elderly folks per capita

Also the state with the highest rate of violent crime.

when he went south with his support of " they can't do anything for Terri".......I turned him off. I will do the same with Sean Hannity if I hear that too!!

I just read part of Jebs statement. What a "boo hoo hoo, why is everybody picking on me" thing to say. Real leaders don't say those sorts of things.

I say this in Love Knitting......

Pharoh had the " authority " over the Israelites also. God told them to flee.....they obeyed him, and he opened up the Sea for them.

It's just barbaric. We're all going about our lives waiting to hear she has died. And instead of this death vigil being about someone we could not save, it is about someone we could save but is dying from a deliberate killing.

IMO, Terri is being exterminated. Just like Nazi Germany did starting with the disabled.

Good article here

In the Schiavo case, the Florida judge ignored the subpoena of Congress for Terri Schiavo and the federal courts ignored a law that required them to do a complete fresh review of the case. What we saw was the rule of judges. The rule of law was disregarded.

If this is not extermination, it is extermination by another name, to paraphrase the line about a "rose is a rose is a rose," or however it goes. But Jeb said he is contented because he knows that he did all he could. After Terri's death, I wonder if there will be a hurricane of outrage directed against the governor, who now looks petty, vain, and foolish in some eyes. Right-to-life people who have voted for Jeb Bush in the past will increasingly feel that he has betrayed them.
