After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.

Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.

Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.

The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

Of course, I am opposed to Whittemore. I had never heard of him until last Monday. Whittemore is a permanent government appointee and cannot be removed unless the House impeaches him and the Senate convicts. GWB could have used the National Guard to enforce the law of March 21 after Whittemore and the three-judge panel refused to grant the de novo hearing.

Terri Schiavo Receives Easter Communion and Morphine for Pain

by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
March 28, 2005

Pinellas Park, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Terri Schiavo was able to receive part of communion on Easter Sunday and hospice workers have provided Terri morphine to be able to ease the tremendous pain associated with the dehydration and starvation she's endured for 10 days.

Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri's parents Bob and Mary Schindler, said hospice workers are giving Terri morphine to ease the pain brought on by failure of her internal organs.

Weller said Terri cried when she hugger her mother on Saturday night and tried to tell her something, but couldn't.

"She knows what's going on,” Weller told the Associated Press.

Dr. David Stevens, the president of the Christian Medical Association, says "most so-called experts have never seen someone die in this manner."

However, Stevens worked for 13 years in Africa, where the most common cause of death in children is dehydration from gastroenteritis.

"I have seen hundreds if not thousands of patients with dehydration and some of them so far gone, that despite resuscitation attempts, they died," Dr. Stevens said.

"Contrary to those that try to paint a picture of a gentle process, death by dehydration is a cruel, inhumane and often agonizing death," Dr. Stevens explains.

Meanwhile, Monsignor Thaddeus Malanowski had been prohibited by Terri's estranged husband Michael from administering communion, but he said Sunday that he was able to hold Terri's hand while the hospice priest, the Rev. Joseph Braun, placed a drop of wine on Terri's tongue.

However, her mouth was so parched and dry from the dehydration that they unable to place a small morsel of bread in her mouth.

"She received the blood of Christ," he explained outside the hospice afterwards. The announcement drew cheers form the crowd of pro-life advocates and disability rights activists who have been outside the hospice since Terri's feeding tube was removed.

Malanowski also anointed Terri with holy oil and told her that God has forgiven her of her sins.

Still, Terri's family was upset that Michael didn't readily agree to the communion request.

"I think a lot of the reason Michael is doing this is because of vindictiveness and maybe anger toward my family for whatever reason," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "It doesn't make any sense to me why he's doing this."

Malanowski later celebrated a communion Mass with more than 100 supporters outside Woodside Hospice.

"We won't give up. We will fight to the end," Malanowski said, according to a Reuters report.

"Terri we love you," the crowd sang.

They certainly look proud of themselves don't they? I wonder how well they sleep at night knowing that they are actively helping to murder a helpless woman? But they are 'just following orders' aren't they? Where was it we heard that before...........?/s

I've wondered if the polls dropped because he didn't do enough. Why should he follow the polls anyway, is he running for another office.

Very true. I have been teaching in public schools for 15 years. Our public schools have been converted into massive propaganda machines. There are few true teachers left in the trenches, and they are about to be shoved out the door.

Any of you FReepers who have the resources to do so would be well advised to get your kids out of public schools, even if you have to home school them.

If you can't get your kids out of public schools then be sure to deprogram them every day after school. Ask them what they learned and then tell them what was wrong with what they learned. Pay very close attention to their text books. The propaganda begins in preschool now.

Link:

In Washington, State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said U.S. diplomatic missions in Asia and Africa are in "battle mode" so that they can respond quickly to any contingency.

State Department is guilty of non response to the starvation death of Terri.. Where is their Battle Mode for the welfare of American Citizens?

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE....

I just called the number for Rep Davis and was told that "due to several recent court decisions the hearing referenced in the subpoena has been postponed so the people subpoened are relieved of their obligation to appear."

I am fuming. I thought the reason they subpoened Terri (just before her forced starvation began) was to put a method in place to possibly save her. I told him this and he gave me blather about how they will be rescheduling the hearing in the future to dicuss long term health care issues relating in part to the Schiavo case. GRrrrr!

Mine said that the subpoena had been rescinded, pending a rescheduling of the hearing. I plan on calling back later today and see how that's going.

You're right. I just got through to Rep. Davis's office (actually the person who picks up the phone answers "Government Reform and Oversight Committee"), and he said essentially the same thing.

The hearing that is to be "rescheduled" is apparently only a general inquiry into issues such as "long term health care."

Rep. Davis is playing patty-cake over life-and-death. I guess I should not be surprised. Mark Levin, speaking about Tom Davis on another issue, said Davis is a big-time RINO.

It appears he has NO intention of disciplining the defiers of the subpoenas, nor even of looking into judicial mess that resulted in this debacle in the first place.

Still worth a call, IMO. Let these wussies know we hold them accountable.

I just talked to someone on the Gov't Reform Committee. He said the hearings were supposed to be on Friday and that they were cancelled. (This doesn't make sense to me)

He also said they'd exhausted everything they could do and no further plans were in the works...

Look, we expected Whittemore to rule against Terri cause he is a Clintonoid! We expected GWB and JEB to save Terri because they are pro-life! Come to find out we can't even trust the good guys, or the guys we thought were good! That is what it comes down to me. The men and leaders we thougth we could depend on have walked away from Terri!

Yep. I just got through to Davis's office and got the same pabulum.

We need to keep calling. Let them know we're not buying these lame excuses.

Halls, the Bush boys are fools not to see the danger in this situation.

Half of this country does not like them. They are rabid Bush haters. Now, their very supporters are turning on them.

Those of us who support Terri and want her to live, are the back bone of the Bush supporters.

This situation has the potiential to be very explosive. It should not be underestimated. We are in a dangerous situation right now, with this happening in Florida, and the vigilantes in Arizona, who have had war declared on them by the MS-13 gang.

Our country is a powder keg right now, and the Bushes are fools to not see it, and step in to defuse it.

I started crying...I hate that!!! But it's life and death, and I feel passionate, so I guess I'd rather cry and it be sincere then some of the knuckleheads who call on the other side.
