After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.

Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.

Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.

The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

I've got to leave for a while to run a few errands. Here's one more promise:

Just want to tell you something....then I'm back offline.

At lunch, while passing by a Christian bookstore, on the way to get my cheeseburger life support, I saw in the window display a placque which read:

Be Still and Know that I Am God

These words many of us were drawn to last week and believe that my seeing them, again, today was more than a coincidence.

Whether it makes him a hero or not, when he did that he showed how important this case is to him. People on this thread aren't even giving him credit for that. They're putting him and Jeb in the same camp with Greer and Felos and MS. It really bothers me when we start eating our own.

Michael Schaivo does, indeed, deserve our anger. He's got that. That's not letting others who deserve a little ire off the hook, however.

But may I suggest? Let's get back to Terri. These kinds of arguments are being waged on the other threads already.

I should also have said: rescue of Terri by the EXECUTIVE branch would not only NOT harm the RULE of LAW but would in fact protect it.

Incidentally truth...I really do not think anyone thinks of the President or Jeb like Michael or the others...I really don't. But there is a hand slapping to be had here, and to NOT slap that hand would also be wrong.

I'm sorry, broke my own request!!! But I read your message more thoroughly and wanted to respond that you may be concerned that people are putting the President and the Governor in the same category. I, for one, am not. But I do think the President and the Governor are wrong in this. At the very least, I would like to see them angry about this...truly angry. And they do not appear to be. Which seems to indicate, it's fine with them to let it go and go on now.

I think I have finally figured out (other may have earlier) why so many Americans stand four-square with MRS, George W. Greer, and George J. Felos. It's because these Americans have "let" a relative "die" without resorting to extraordinary means of "life support." And in many of those cases, quite a hefty sum of $$$ was involved. Now we know that a simple feeding tube might not be considered "extraordinary," but there must be a lot of callous Americans willing to look the other way while a "loved one" dies earlier than they might have otherwise -- if that loved one has "assets."

This whole court case comes down to the fact that a husband has total legal control over his wife. The wife is nothing more than chattel. This is reminiscent of ancient Rome, when the pater familias made all decisions concerning his family. He could even put a child to death for disobedience, and reject a newborn child for any reason (disability, female, whatever) and order it to be abandoned to the elements on a mountaintop.

Amen, N! Wonderful post. I've gone from despair to hope after reading the scriptures everyone is posting and singing the hymns. I love those old hymns!

I am praying the church would be aroused and awakened - it's as though even the strongest, most Bible believing Christians have been asleep. Wake up, church!

Catherine Crier is definately a big hypocrite!!! She fought for a man whom she said was innocent, and had spent over 20 years prison. Crier's efforts got him out of prison.

Where's Crier's compassion for the innocent now? Court TV, is for the most part, against Terri. I'll never understand their lunacy. Why can't they see how Terri has been abused by a MONSTER HUSBAND, just like the victims Court TV covers everyday.

The message boards at Court TV reflect Cathrine's views as well. A high majority of posts, favor the stinking husband of Terri. Hopefully one day, the truth will come out and those who have supported the HINO, will feel like fools. I just hope it will NOT be too late, to save Terri.

Scott Peterson, is a man who is now sitting on death row, in prison. While it's true that he killed his wife, at least he didn't have the court's approved opportunity to also torture his wife for 15 years. The torture, includes NO THERAPY, and also illegal placement of Terri, in the Woodside Hospice, since the year 2000.

Obviously, the biggest horror, IS what is being done to Terri at this very moment - 13 days of Starvation and Dehydration. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Feminist groups and people like Cathrine Crier, continue to believe the motives of Michael Schiavo. What a tradegy for Terri and her family. I hope the day is soon coming, when the Truth will prevail. Hoping the 11 Circuit court, will be the vehicle for the truth.

Why is the Schindler's co-counsel, Robert Destro, appearing on shows like Dayside(Linda Vester's show), on Fox News, and saying appealing to the 11 circuit court, is a waste of time? I do not understand which side of the fence, the man is on?? Does anyone know who Robert Destro is ?
