The court did not order anyone's death. If Mrs. Schiavo were to suddenly become concious and be able to grab a burger, the court is not ordering she be bludgeoned or have it ripped away. You spew out words to obscure the truth, not illuminate it.

But the basic truth you will not admit to is that she could never ask for a burger. Her brain is gone, except for some lower functions. Mr. Schiavo had hope for years, with therapy and experimental treatments, but eventually realized it was futile.

In fact, many people would want their spouses to act like Mr. Schiavo did... Try for treatment, but let them go when it becomes clear there's no hope. That's why mainstream America is so against the attempted theft of Mrs. Schiavo's rights.

"The court did not order anyone's death. If Mrs. Schiavo were to suddenly become concious and be able to grab a burger, the court is not ordering she be bludgeoned or have it ripped away."

Actually, what I understand is that the Judge has ordered that Terri NOT be fed at all... putting ice chips in her mouth or spooning her Jello would violate his order.

"But the basic truth you will not admit to is that she could never ask for a burger. Her brain is gone, except for some lower functions."

Not true. She is brain-damaged, not even close to brain-dead. ... Please get your info from better sources than Schiavo and his pro-death lawyer.

" You spew out words to obscure the truth, not illuminate it." ... Look in the mirror, pal.

"In fact, many people would want their spouses to act like Mr. Schiavo did."

What, take the settlement money and buy a new gold Acura car the next day, ignore her rehab needs once the money was in the bank, get a new common-law wife and kids, and years later 'remember' that she wanted her plug pulled despite being a cognizant and aware, yet disabled, human being? She'd want him spending what was left of the money meant for her medical care on pro-death lawyers advocating to get her killed????

"That's why mainstream America is so against the attempted theft of Mrs. Schiavo's rights."

You nor I have no idea what Terri really wants right now, but one thing is clear - killing her this way is a violation of her rights.
The controversy comes about because certain facts are not what they seem and are in dispute. THIS IS NOT A "RIGHT TO DIE" CASE. This is a euthanasia case that is (mis)represented by Felos (Schiavo's lawyer and "Hemlock society" leader) as a right-to-die case; a disabled women is being killed because she cant speak on her behalf, and we are taking the word of her husband that she wants to be killed. Some people don't believe her husband has her true interests at heart. I'm one of them.

Oh, then who is the woman in the hospice who is being starved to death at court order. If "the court did not order anyone's death," then the nation must be caught in the grip of mass delusion, thinking that a woman is wasting away at the Pinellas hospice, on Judge Greer's orders. I guess it isn't really happening, and all those SWAT cops outside the hospice are there because they thought it was a donut shop.
