On a similar note, I'm wondering if the congressfolk who subpoenaed Terri to a hearing in April will be issuing contempt of congress citations in the event Terri does not show due to her death. Would they dare arrange for the arrest of judge Greer for facilitating her non-appearance. They really need to do something or their subpoenas will have even less force in the future.

This was a bluff, a big fat red herring by Governor Jeb Bush to make it appear he did everything possible. All Jeb needed to do, if he were serious, was to send in the State Police along with the Florida National Guard, WITH AN ORDER FROM THE STATE'S HIGHEST OFFICIAL, himself, to remove Terri from the hospice. The local cops would have backed down like the cowards they truly are.

(And please don't tell me "they're just doing their job"). That was the Nazi excuse for killing innocent Jews. Frankly, I'd prefer to loose my job as a police officer if it came down to my being ordered to help starve an innocent woman to death. How can these people live with being part of this monstrous act???

George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, said he does not think DCF officials knew of the window of opportunity they had created until well after they filed their appeal.

When what she really needed to "ease' her pain is a drink of water..her pain is caused by thrist...she doesnt need morphine she needs water...

This issue is going to finish both Bushes, the perception is out there and with good reason that the Bush brothers are just using Terry to play politics. That will cause an unbelievable backlash against both.

Fox is reporting that the size of the protesting crowd is large and growing. Death threats flying and arrests common.

The only parallel I can think of this is where Andrew Jackson defied the Supreme Court to send all the Indians to Oklahoma.

I don't care what the courts say. As Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush is required by his oath to execute their orders after all appeals are filed. He can oppose it personally or resign if he can't do that. If he can just decide to violate an order, then we have a dictatorship and a tyranny which I will not tolerate.

The local police were following "orders" huh? That's same defense the Nazis used at Nuremberg to justify following illegal and immoral orders. It won't save those police officers when they go to meet their Maker one day. They should have known better than Judge Greer's order was null and void and they should NOT have cooperated in carrying out. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO EXECUTE AN ILLEGAL ORDER, PERIOD. AND NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND FOLLOWING SUCH AN ORDER ON THE GROUND IT CAME FROM AN OFFICIAL AUTHORITY. I'm disappointed the State Agents did not arrest the local police and take them into custody for committing a criminal act. They could have saved Terri if they had done their job. All of us feel let down by their moral cowardice.

That was the time to send in the National Guard units.
