Man arrested for Michael Schiavo threat
Baynews9.com ^ | 3-25-2005

A man has been arrested and charged with offering a $250,000 reward for killing Michael Schiavo.

Richard Alan Meywes was arrested in Fairview, North Carolina by the FBI and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

On March 23, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office forwarded an email to the FBI in Tampa which purportedly offered a $250,000 bounty on "the head of Michael Schiavo." The email placed an additional $50,000 bounty for the elimination of a judge who recently denied a request to intervene in the Schiavo case.

It's not "what is he suppose to do."
It's about what he was legally advised to do, and didn't!
He had numerous legal options!

Read the legal memos on post #3.
Legal Memos

Before/after she dies, I hope the state files a criminal complaint,
to immediately obtain her body for an autopsy!

Good post!

While the three ring circus goes on in Florida, hundreds of normal healthy babies are torn limb from limb in the abortion mills each and every day and nobody gives a da**! Why the pro-life movement chooses to go insane over a women in a PVS of 15 years over the babies is beyond me.

They have not only lost their focus, they have lost their minds as well, demanding elected officials take violent, unconstitutional, un-american acts to satisfy their lust for power!

Thanks FD. You are right, of course, this is an opportunity for our enemies to try and divide us. I just went berserk (like Billy Jack!) when he started in on my relatives in uniform. It's been deleted, I wish you saw it. But I should have recognized it as trolling. Interestingly, the troll came back as saab viggen or something like that. I recognized him by his use of slashes instead of apostrophes; I knew that college education would eventually prove useful. He went on a rant about how Gov. Faubus should have sicced the Arkansas National Guard on Ike's troops in 1957 in a comparison to Terri's case. ZOT! Gotcha! He's gone again with the help of another poster.

Yes, this is about poor Terri, not me, not my cousins in uniform, not Governor Faubus and not phony DU trolls.

Pray pray pray for Terri. I cannot pray for the cockroach who is killing her. I guess I just haven't reformed enough for that much forgiveness. I hope he rots. Before he dies.

More than that, I think we've lost focus on the reason for the abortion mills: pessimism about life in America; pessimism about our future; a nationwide abandonment of love of family and an increasing unwillingness to gamble on the future of our own people.

Until we address these problems at their roots, they will continue unabated. I don't see very many discussions about Terri's (sad) plight that mention the root causes of these other more pressing problems.

We can't forget threats to the lives of millions of people, including Americans, Sudanese, South Koreans, Israelis, and Taiwanese because we've elected judges who don't do what we want in this one particular case.

Hmmm...registered 3/25/2005, I note.

It takes a newbie of feeble brain activity to come up with such an inelegant sequitur as yours - in fact, I believe yours actually falls well short of the norm for substandard monosyllabic projectile vomitus...bet you talk like that to women often, loser.

love ya, AAC--thanks. He re-appeared with another name, but we got him again! That really burned me, that our troops are somehow less than brave for staying over there dodging snipers and road bombs instead of going AWOL to Pinellas FL. I didn't care what he said to me, but don't mess with my boys...

Right now, the only thing I can do for Terri is pray. It makes you feel so helpless...that there is no one to save her is so painful.

Now I worry for the kids.

Next to Terri, these kids are in a real crap situation. None asked for it, none wanted it, none have any control over it.

Imagine growing up know that your "daddy" is a world-class POS that has unpleasant ways of ending his relationships....

I really liked your assessment--you are so right. Nothing will change if we don't get at the root. Why do women go to abortion clinics? This is really important and I have lots of personal insight on this and would love to help women in this situation.

We have to recognize that one judge can cause untold misery for millions--and elect those who can appoint them with that in mind.

Son,

There are things which ought not to be tolerated.

I don't knee jerk at liberal buzz words formulated and used by those with no convictions, no hold on truth, and no courage.

Tolerance is okay for disagreements about pizza toppings but not about murder, judicial tyranny, and denial of civil rights to the disabled.

Why do you want this woman to die?

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I agree completely.

Renegade judges, assuming arbitrary power over life and death is an altogether different matter.

Execution by judicial fiat?

This will prove to be a watershed as momental as legalization of the murder of babies in 1973 if it is allowed to stand.

Yet, "Though hand join in hand, evil shall not go unpunished."

And, "His eyes are always upon the righteous and His ears are open unto their prayers."

Improving life and the perception of our future potential for Americans will fully revive the natural instinct to love and nurture life. We know why we've lost that instinct; immigration has replaced the support and defense of our own American families. Off shoring has begun to replace us at home. Outsourcing is replacing us. Imports from third world hellholes with no workplace or environmental standards has cheapened our value. From that cynical perspective, why should we have big families? Kudos to those who are so determined that America would live on that they do. But I think we have to ask ourselves how we can ignore excessive and illegal immigration, outsourcing/off shoring, and the Walmarting of America while we talk endlessly about the right to life. They go together: the right to life is also about treating each American living family as if it were as precious as diamonds. This isn't just up to judges. It's up to Wall Street, Congress, Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and the White house. They're failing!

Tolerance is okay for disagreements about pizza toppings but not about murder, judicial tyranny, and denial of civil rights to the disabled. no, tolerance is what creates civility, and law and order. Lots of us did not like Clinton, and what he did, but we waited until we can legally unseat him. To assume that the stupid comment about beating the judge is an acceptable tactic is to be terrorist.

Why do you want this woman to die? I don't, I think that she has suffered too much, for fifteen years. Her quality of life is near ZERO, and I hope that I, and you and our worst enemy never have to suffer like this poor woman. What strikes me so funny about the born again Jesus freaks is, IF HEAVEN IS SO WONDERFUL, AND YOU ARE SO EAGER TO BE WITH JESUS, WHY DON'T YOU JUST TAKE A SHORT CUT!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. I agree that we always have to be engaged in betterment of our country.

I'll drink to that, that's a big picture on the pickle we are in. I might get flak for this but I think America is dying, we are seeing the symptoms here.

This is most troubling. Here’s what troubles me with this incident. Had this lunatic actually succeeded, that would absolutely have been murder.

If this lunatic had been prompted to commit the murder by people labeling Michael Schiavo as a murderer, and Michael Schiavo were actually carrying out the wishes of Terri, everyone that has judged Michael a murderer would essentially be passive accomplices to the murder.

Someone needs to explain to me why Michael Schiavo would even place himself in such a dangerous position. I’ve read the comments about him letting Terri die so he can marry his girlfriend. I’ve read he’s doing it for inheritance. I don’t believe either of those explanations.

Has anyone thought his relationship with his girlfriend and all the money in the world are worthless to him if he is dead? He’s aware of the threats he is facing. Someone needs to explain the rationale for Michael Schiavo wanting Terri to die if it could result in his death too.

I’ve read a lot of comments by people on FR that say Michael and Terri never discussed what they would want if a situation like the present one surfaced. The writers present themselves as having firsthand knowledge. I trust only God to have such knowledge. The only other being I think that would CLAIM such knowledge is Satan, and the purpose would be to drive people into sin.

Oddly, I see the whole situation with Terri Schiavo as having the same roots as abortion. The shirking of personal responsibility is the root cause in both instances.

Terri had well over a decade, from the time she turned 18 years of age, to have her healthcare directives written. She did not. That is shirking personal responsibility. It's the same thing that leads to so many aborted pregnancies, the shirking of personal responsibilities to keep from getting pregnant in the first place.

Now we've a feeble class of citizens describing themselves as "conservatives" wanting the government to step in and fix a situation the individual at the core could have accomplished themselves. It's this line of thinking that has given us Social Security, welfare, and countless other social programs. Few things are further from conservatives than wanting the government to fix the personal failings of individuals.

Terri's life and death will not be in vain if it helps restore personal responsibility in the lives of our citizens. She may indirectly have more to do with reestablishing personal responsibility than the government could ever accomplish.
