A man has been arrested and charged with offering a $250,000 reward for killing Michael Schiavo.

Richard Alan Meywes was arrested in Fairview, North Carolina by the FBI and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

On March 23, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office forwarded an email to the FBI in Tampa which purportedly offered a $250,000 bounty on "the head of Michael Schiavo." The email placed an additional $50,000 bounty for the elimination of a judge who recently denied a request to intervene in the Schiavo case.

I don't want Michael hurt. Killed. Nothing. Honest to gosh, I don't. People who do what this dude did (the guy who threatened him)...are NOT helping anyone.

God will deal with him in His time, and THAT is a sobering thought.

Exactly, all this does is make us look bad. I wonder if he is a ringer? I mean this guy with the threats could be of the "DUer type" that would do something like this to make us look bad. I don't know, I'm grasping at straws here, but we need to think about this angle too.

Sadly no one is gonna "wake up" after being in a PVS for 15 years.

Probably not, but Terri is a different story. She's just being eliminated because she's disabled. Hubby has a new wife who's not.

probably somebody feeling frustrated on the whole situation who is normally close to the edge ... and this is pushing him over it ... wondering whether the guy really intended it or was "blowing smoke" out of his frustration ...

who the heck did he send the email to anyway?

Carolinian charged with offering $250,000 for Michael Schiavo hit

The Associated Press
TAMPA, Fla.
A North Carolina man was charged by the FBI on Friday with offering a $250,000 bounty for the murder of Michael Schiavo, the husband of a brain-damaged woman dying in a hospice after years of legal wrangling with her parents.

Richard Alan Meywes, of Fairview, N.C., allegedly wrote an e-mail, which was forwarded to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, that also placed a $50,000 bounty for the death of a judge in the case. The FBI said the threat did not identify a specific judge.

Meywes was arrested in North Carolina but was charged in Tampa with murder for hire and with the transmission of interstate threatening communications.

He faces a U.S. Magistrate's hearing Monday in Ashville, N.C., and will eventually be brought to Tampa to face the charges against him, the FBI said.

Cpl. Todd Ernst of the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said Meywes had no prior criminal record in the county where the arrest took place.

Meywes' name did not appear in several published and online telephone directories.

He is expected to spend the weekend in the Buncombe County Detention Center until the Monday hearing, Ernst said. Jail records do not show any attorney representing Meywes.

Jeez, you are sick. My Jagermeister story:

About 12 years ago I was working on a project in Italy. One of my co-workers was headed back to the US the next day, and a few of us started buying rounds of the vile Jajermeister intoxicant at the bar. We ALL ended up hung over....but only he, the travelling man, had to deal with cramped airplane hungover hell the whole next day..... it was an evil ploy that we laughed about for years.....

Up is down, and down is up!

yep, this is what happens when judges can find "the right to die", a woman's right to choose" and "gay marriage" (don't flame me) in the Constitution, but can't find the right to life.

Sorry I think that may have been Grandma C. At PFCA school. My point is what if that were being done to YOUR grandson by his wife?

This is setting a very dangerous tone and this will not be the last merely the beginning unless people step out in force.

Yep, I can imagine Scott Peterson, sitting in his cell, wishing he had the fore-thought to simply choke his wife and cause brain damage. Then he could have gotten the Judicial to kill her for him.

Yes, that's the ticket. All abused wives had better take heed!

>>She. Is. Not. PVS. And. Never. Was.<<

Nope she was and is severely disabled, and is being allowed to die of starvation because of MS said she want to die SEVEN YEARS after her 'incident'.
