And your proposal is?

Federal legislation. Teachers with the following background qualifiers: Ex-military (combat arms or combat support branches); LEO experience; NRA Instructors or IDPA competitors rated Marksman or above shall be eligible for voluntary appointment as school site federal officers and have access to firearms that may be transported between home to school, and back. While at school, they may be secured in a special locker in the classroom or on the teacher's person as according to personal preference.

Semiannual qualifications shall be held by state level DHS featuring scenario based problem solving situations that may be encountered in a school setting. Include building clearing tactics and empty handed combatives, as well as conflict resolution skills.

Further, provide civil liability shields in the event of a justifiable shooting at the school site. Designate funding for this program to be provided as a wartime expense from the DHS budget.

Israelis protect their schools with armed volunteers and precedent has been set here in the CONUS by the TSA allowing Armed Pilot program . It's in place to save the lives of lots of people.......what about the lives of lots of little people.......?

Allow the RKBA for CHL holders inside schools. IMHO The incidents in Red Lake or even Columbine would never have occurred or at the very least to a lesser extent had the wolves known that sheepdogs in the form of a few teachers, janitors, staff, principal, security etc were on duty.

Just my opinion of course......Stay Safe Soldier !

Reference 103:

I would add two way radios on the Police department frequencies, kevlar vests and protective body armor, and ballistic riot shields to the inventory.

That way you could avoid friendly fire incidents, have better protection for the teachers than the attackers would probably have, and the ability to counter-attack and make gains.

Good plan, but one may have a hard time in some areas finding enough of, or any, teachers with those qualifications.
That's why my thought was to just to add full time security personnel.
