My only worry with the appeal is that they did not hire somebody like Ted Olson to write it - I am afraid they only listen to insiders - I don't want to have to hear that Gibbs did not file the proper argument therefore it was dismissed...does anybody know if there are some secret higherups advising Gibbs?

I have a funny feelinbg we will hear the following after Terri dies: "The Republican Party did all we could within the confines of the law to save Terri. This is precisely why we need to confirm more conservative judges, so this type of tragedy doesn't occur again in the future." If so, the blowback in the 2006 mid-terms COULD be significant.

I feel opposite and I am praying they take this appeal...there is alot here that is too questionable NOT to have a trial...
Try living among them in New England...they are a cancer upon the soul of the entire country.

I am in the middle of it. It is very good.
It sounds like the two lower federal courts simply ignored the intent of Congress rather than the initial appeal being fatally flawed. (Whittemore is pure evil, IMHO.) Gibbs may have been too naive, but I don't think he was negligent, as someone asserted to me yesterday.
Jeb has a responsibility to uphold law equal to that of the judicary. He has an absolute obligation to counter any move by the judicary where they exceed their authority. If the judicary tried to lynch somone on a tree, he would justified in calling in the state police. The situation is the SAME now.
The local news reported this morning that Judge Greer ordered the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to arrest any members of the Dept of Children and Families and any other agency who attempts to take Terri into protective custody.
Let's pray Jeb does the right thing!

I woke up because my son who can't sleep and I came down to check since I'm awake. It is still dark.
Your post jan, is amazing. God bless this sweet family with whom you work. I think the word will spread even more today. My prayer now, besides saving Terri and someone to get in there to rescue her is that this news will spread like wildfire today across the nation and world and MORE prayers will go up. The heavenlies will be overflowing with the sound of our voices in prayer.
We do need to be careul, though. While Republicans are more often on the side of life, Terri has become a bipartisan issue and many democrats in the national spotlight have been coming out in support of dear Terri. Greer and MS are Republicans.
The battle between good and evil continues and as I said last night, this is history we are watching, the Roe v. Wade of our time. Dear Lord in heaven, do not let the Evil one and his dominions prevail in this fight. Our country is so divided over everything now. Let the side that loves life prevail.
