All the comparisons of Terri to Jesus is getting to be too much... But if that is how people want it, then I don't know what the big deal is - if she dies on friday, she'll be back sunday anyway, right?

"And you certainly don't have to be 18 to try to take a woman suffering and dying from dehydration a simple cup of water."

Do you know for a fact that she is suffering?

They said on Fox News (or maybe I read it here somewhere) that she has a 2-year old child with her also, so she had to stay on the sidelines with the 2-year-old.

Yep they were only following orders.....to aid in the murder of an innocent woman and arresting children for wanting to give her a woman dying of thrist a little comfort in her torture...

Have you seen Terri's mother, father, sister, brother attempt to go against the court order to give Terri water? What makes outsiders think that they could?

I do think that something should be done, and that Terri should be saved, and Michael should be put on trial. But one does not put their children in a situation like this.

Terri is on mediciad - guess who led the charge to cut medicaid?

Why the disinformation?

- It is well known that Micheal Schiavo received a multi-million dollar malpractice settlement that was supposed to be paying for Terri's care. Of course the worm has embezzled a significant amount of that money to pay for the sleazy lawyers to find a "legal" way to kill her - which, if you had your way, they will soon succeed in.

- It is also well known that Terri's parents have offered to take financial responsibility of caring for her.

- Third parties have offered up millions of dollars to make Micheal go away and to take care of Terri.

The only reason that Terri's care is being paid by Medicare is that her husband (WHO IS TRYING TO KILL HER) used up the funds, meant to care for her, on lawyers and his nursing education*.

* One could presume that his spending this money on a medical career would be a natural course of action to help save his wife. If this were true, then why is he trying so hard to kill her? Could it be that he needed detailed knowledge of how to kill her in a way that wouldn't look like murder? A nurse that cared for Terri had reported to police a suspicious event, where he might have tried to use insulin to kill her.

How does it feel to shill for a possible murderer?

Last week 10 of us women (half us us over 50) went to HINO's house to protest. (We took roses to put on his lawn). The officials were told we were coming-we were met by A SWAT TEAM!

I read that the law that Bush signed in Texas was already on the books. What he signed was an extension to give them more time to find another health facility. Maybe someone else read this too?

Someone on one of the cable news shows also stated this yesterday.

How much of that stuf fyou just posted is actually true? Do you actually have proof that this guy embezzled? Do you have proof that he drained those funds to pay for lawyers? How much of this is actually factual, rather than "I read it on a website somewhere"???

I'm not being facetious, I'm actually curious...

"Child Protective Agency denied Jeb Bush for Terri to be adopted by the State according to a report on Fox News."

Not to be a political cynic here, and with total respect to the Schindler family, but Jeb has an opportunity to set the stage for a run at the White House. All he has to do is order the protective services to rescue Terri from starvation.

And he should do it and tell the Florida judiciary to come after him, if it has the guts.

"I think that was a strategic move so that she could record what was happening if somehow it got ugly, but also to provide bail or arrange for an attorney."

This is my point. All this talk about this being an effort to give water to Terri is a feint...there not only was no way possible to get in the hospital but Terri can't drink from a cup, she must take even her water via the tube. So let's quit portraying this as an effort to hydrate her, it was a publicity stunt from start to finish. Now I don't necessarily have problems with publicity stunts per se (this one was an A+), civil disobedience has a long and revered history in America starting with the Boston Tea Party.

However, I do have a problem with parents getting their kids involved in actions that could end up in confrontation, altercation or arrest. Children simply do not have the judgment to make decisions about getting involved in such things and parents should always err on the side of safety.

I agree the children can have compassion for Terri and they certainly can understand being starved to death. But do they understand the legal complexities of who has the right to make the call to remove care or life support? Do they understand the nuances of federal vs. state rights? Do they understand the issue of euthanasia (Soylent Green is PEOPLE!) All these are facets of this sad event.

I don't have a problem with people taking their children to peaceful rallies or marches. However, I think it is selfish of parents to stick signs in their kids hands, signs the kids neither created nor understand. On a very basic level this is exploiting the children, the image and concept of "innocence" for the sake of a photo op the parents could not duplicate on their own.

"When did I give you food to eat and water to drink, Lord."

"Amen, Amen, I say to you, as long as you did this for one of the least of my children, you did it for me."

(My paraphrasing.)

Thanks for the ping, nutmeg. After being away from any media sources all day, I often depend on friendly pings like yours to get me caught up with news and issues of the day.

I haven't read far into the thread, but I wonder if the parents have talked at any length with the kids about Terry Schiavo, or if the kids have discussed the issue in Sunday School or school religion classes. God Bless the kids, and their parents (especially dad for standing/kneeling with them) for taking a moral stand - even knowing that they would probably be arrested. And God Bless everyone who has been working so hard to stop the starvation killing of Terry Schiavo, through nonstop prayer, legal battling, and even trying to bring water to Schiavo's bedside.

I have been praying all through these past several days since the feeding tube was removed that this battle against evil will be won, and I pray that God will help somebody find the strength to save Terry Schiavo's life.
