Exactly and part of what is bothering me -- you don't wait for so long before you do something and now they are all over the talk shows.

The one called the police and got fired for it. What are they supposed to do if no one lets them blow the whistle?

I am Christian and conservative, as is my wife. We believe that removing the tube is the right action as we both would not want to kept alive ourselves.

That's fine. Neither do I. However in this case, there is only the testimony of an unreliable witness regarding what Terri would want. That is the central issue, regardless of what you and I want for ourselves.

The only problem with your thesis is that she has not decided this for herself. Someone is making the decision to KILL her. That is not Christian in the least.

When there is any doubt (and there are grave doubts in this situation) in such issues, YOU ERR ON THE SIDE OF LIFE. That is the Christian thing to do, clearly.

Schiavo Parents Seek Review of Ruling

"AP

ATLANTA - Racing against time to save their brain-damaged daughter's life,"

Media cracking under the pressure.

NOTE AP NOW admits Terri is brain damaged, NOT brain dead.

Judge Greer did not "break the law."

People, this is an utterly ridiculous comment. Did he misinterpret something? In my estimation, yes. But what is this ridiculous statement about "judicial homocide" - PLEASE!!! Rationality has left this site completely.

Was just on another thread asking why it took their attorneys 10 hours to file an appeal and was told that probably they are changing their pleading to follow the roadmap set forth by the FL District Judge and the dissenting Judge on the 11th.

Where are the attorneys of the Right to Life groups -- they sit on a pile of money and have some really good attorneys? I feel sorry for their attorney because I think he is over his head in this one and needs legal advice himself. Just want to know with all the money donated to Right to Life and other pro-life groups, why some of that money couldn't be used to get the best lawyers available in this life and death struggle.

Judge Greer will not allow the guardianship case to move forward although it was filed in Nov. 2002! Depositions have not even taken place. Michael refuses to show up at the scheduled times, and Greer refuses to charge him with contempt of court. Of course, Greer has allowed Michael to break all sorts of guardianship laws all these years, by providing Terri with substandard care at a hospice when she clearly isn't terminal unless she's deprved of food and water. I guess I'm terminal, too! Hurry, get me into a hospice facility!

Courts can be wrong - but that doesn't mean that what they have done is illegal. This site has lost all rationality and reason. It's lunacy.

Actually I would have taken this place to the licensing board since I got fired and would have gotten some scumbag attorney to sue the place for firing me. One thing I have learned over the years, if I ever need an attorney to represent me in a case like this, hire a scumbag RAT attorney.

A governor can stop/commute a death sentence for some thug but he's powerless here. Amazing.

Perhaps some clarification is in order. Go to News/Activism, Front Page, "Glimmer of Hope" article by Andrew McCarthy. He makes my point much better than I.

Yes. I try never to miss Rush. He is shoving it down the evil left's throats as to their true motives for wanting Terri dead. (They hate Christians and count this as a win for them.) He told them just the opposite is true. They will cause a backlash such as they have never seen with their active push for death shown on television every day. I just called my nephew and told him to email Gov. Bush and told him to tell everyone he knows. Like Rush said: "What good are we if we do not stand for life, liberty and propery?"

Courts make mistakes - that's a given, but that does not give rise to a call for anarchy, which is what is occurring.

"Governor Bush can ONLY do what the law allows -- to do anything more would be breaking his oath and setting a bad precedent that could be used one day by the forces of evil if a liberal ever occupied that seat again."

I agree one hundred percent.

Can you imagine a President Hillary deciding, after intense political pressure from the pro-death crowd, to take action against an individual citizen? Perhaps deciding, oh, let's see, that some individual Medicaid patient who is using a feeding tube or something to stay alive is costing the system too much money? So she goes in and orders the tube to be removed?

If there is some legal way for Governor Bush to step in (i.e., with the protective custody route) I am all for it, with the following caveat:

I hope they will be reasonably sure of an ultimate successful outcome. Not one hundred percent of course, that's not possible, but also, don't take action that you know is destined to fail.

Because if the tube is put back in, and then whatever law they pass or action they take is again ruled unconstitutional or otherwise futile, and her tube is taken out a fourth (or fifth?) time, I think it would be cruel to Terri to keep re-launching days of starvation and dehydration.

And I say that as a strong supporter of Life as well. :)
