Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.
yeah, they vote against saving her life while trying to get the public on her side by saying people are threatening her life. Sanctity of life only refers to her life. It makes me sick that people like this hold public office, because they only look out for themselves
"Jeb will say that he and President Bush have done everything they could do under the law to help Terri. He'll say that he feels bad for Terri's family, but there is nothing more he can do. He's washing his hands of Terri, just like Pontius Pilate."
I believe you are absolutely correct..and i'll eat my hat if he says otherwise...
JRABBIT!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't scare me like that. I read your post to fast and I almost passed out.
I thought it said she died. Oh God, thank you for me being stupid and reading too fast!
One of the senators said, "I err on the side of science." He errs on the side of people who know more about the subject than him, of doctors and the hospices.
He errs on the side of death.
Totally a death with dignity, right?
Klein in opposition: talking about terminal conditions and PVS. Many in the Senate have shared their own stories about pulling the plug on their own parents, grandparents, contemporaries. His grandmother: became ill, was in a PVS without a living will. For six years they cared for her. Wished they'd had the right to terminate (he said "carry out her wishes") his grandmother in Ohio.
Aradopolis (sp?) - If we don't pass this bill today, someone will die. We wouldn't let cold-blooded murderers starve to death, it's against our constitution. But it's happening now. Every time that clock ticks, Terri is slowly dying. And she's done nothing wrong, unlike someone on death row.
even if they pass it here and now...it does nothing for Terri who needs help yesterday
PRESIDENT BUSH: WE HAVE DONE ALL WE COULD DO FOR TERRI

WACO, Texas - President Bush suggested Wednesday that he and Congress had done their best to help Terri Schiavo's parents prolong her life, and the White House said it has no further legal options.
"We felt like the actions taken with Congress was the best course of action," Bush said.
He spoke during a news conference with his counterparts from Canada and Mexico.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan later said, "There really are not other legal options available to us."
"We have explored all our options previously," McClellan said.
The brain-damaged woman's parents, racing against time, asked a federal appeals court in Atlanta on Wednesday for an emergency review of an appellate panel's ruling that her feeding tube not be hooked up again.
Guy up now wanted to kill grandma...Ohio said no...he's bitter

Based on his past performance...I have to say the first one.
One of the senators said, "I err on the side of science." He errs on the side of people who know more about the subject than him, of doctors and the hospices.
He errs on the side of the prince of darkness
I am so tired of their personal rhetoric. No one has acknowledged that Terri Schiavo was disabled and NOT on life support and NOT PVS! It's infuriating. A dog cannot express itself either but we assume that if it is afflicted it doesn't want to die by starvation!!
Then I am the one to profusely apologize. I read a couple of your posts and ignored them until I thought you were in favor of the tube removal.
I am sorry...I shouldn't judge or jump to conclusions.
Klein: wants to argue about the sanctity of marriage, not let others upset the wish and will of a person who made a decision. He and his wife have determined THEY would not want to live in that condition. (Fine, that's YOUR determination, Mr. Klein. Terri hasn't been allowed the luxury of making her own decision.)
You know...the Psalms are really the greatest comfort. They are so beautiful and they are really aligned to this moment and situation.
EEEEK....
I am so sorry. They have funeral music for stories about her now and just did her life story!
I'm very sorry
I'm hopin' to have to offer you some salt for that fedora...but sadly, I don't think I will.
C'mon, Bush Boys.....DO WHAT'S RIGHT! DAMN THE TORPEDOS -- FULL SPEED AHEAD!
sorry for the naughty word, but it's there in the quote!
Pretty sad.
One one thinks about it till it happpens to them.
No apology necessary. I put down my thoughts as the sarcasm came forward and didn't even attempt to make it known that I was pseudo-quoting these senators I'm listening to.
