US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

I half expect the Dems at some point to say "it's all an act, we are kidding". But they are serious. The other day, I got a chuckle watching FOX News when a Liberal guest protested that he could not be called a "Liberal" since he had been a homicide prosecuting attorney for many years.
So, there you have it. The Liberals must be "Pro-Homicide". :-)

>Hearing John Lewis condemn demagoguery was simply amazing.<
As was Eleanor Holmes Norton eloquently espousing State's Rights.
Oh, the delicious irony!

Man, my heart skips a beat when I think that but for the revolution of '94, these death loving freaks would be in the majority.
I know I'm being repetitive, but these people are FREAKS! I'M TALKING NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD DEATH-LOVING FREAKS!
And I'm not a full-cap kind of person.

The issue if you had read it, and thought about what I wrote, is not about Congress acting BUT ABOUT CONGRESS' INACTION ON AN EQUALLY, IF NOT GREATER ISSUE TO THIS COUNTRY. And the issue is NOT knee-jerk or ABUSIVE. It is factual JMO, you are being knee jerk, just look at your use of caps.
This is about Terri and the travesty happening to her and her family.
There are plenty of other threads for you to type in caps and try to distract from the debate.

This whole debate needs to be put on DVD and handed out by the RNC. Game over.

This is the end of the Democratic party as we have known it. You really can't win elections if your primary principle is to kill your constituents.
To: isthisnickcool
I understand that the law, as written, sounds like a bill of attainder, written specifically for Terri Schiavo. However, the arguments being made are about federal review of a case where a state court decrees death by removal of feeding tubes. The argument is around Michale Schiavo' rights as husband, vs. the rights of those who gave Terri Schiavo life in the first place. And, if this law passes, it will be used as precedent regardless of what the language says.
I'm trying to understand why the Democrats are so insistent in this case, and why Barney Frank is the House leader on this issue. I'm surmising that the slippery slope, as the Democrats see it, leads to AIDS patients.

Fox News played it earlier.
This Congressman talking right says Terri's ceribrar cortex "died," however, we don't know this without a MRI or PET scan. A CAT scan is too blunt an instrument.
