This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.
"WHen are they going to vote....How soon after will "W" be able to sign it!"
12:01am if they have enough to hold a vote.
The moron "Moran" is back speaking! My mute button has quit working too! That's the second remote I have had that lost the mute function thanks to the RATs.
Do you know how to identify that the Dems are skating on thin ice?
Only those that are true liberals from true liberal districts are speaking...
Frank, Moran, Wexler, Wasserman-Schultz...
No Dems from a marginally democratic district will get up and speak.
12:01 AM and then Bush will sign it immediately.
I read, weeks ago, that Terri was being spoon fed until Michael decided it wasn't cost effective to have a nurse do so. He then ordered the feeding tubes inserted. Now, Terri has lost the ability to swallow, from lack of doing it.
Completely surreal! It amazes me to see these people standing up there and arguing FOR the death of a disabled woman whose only "crime" is that she cannot communicate or feed herself (in a "normal" manner)!
If I hear one more person call a feeding tube "artificial life support" I am going to scream. There are thousands of people on feeding tubes who lead good and productive lives. They just are not able to swallow for whatever reason. Many people eventually regain their ability to swallow and the tubes are no longer needed. These death monger Democrats in the House are arguing that people on feeding tubes do not have the same right to life that "normal" people have and it makes me sick. Of course they would argue that this is not true, but it is the message that I am getting from them.
Here is S.653, which is very similar...
For the relief of the parents of Theresa Marie Schiavo. (Engrossed as Agreed to or Passed by Senate)

109th CONGRESS
1st Session
S. 653
AN ACT
For the relief of the parents of Theresa Marie Schiavo.
This guy just goofed. He brought up God. Not supposed to play God. EXACTLY!
No -- they need a quorum, 2/3 of all the members must be present to conduct business. Then it's a simple majority.
Barney Frank is a squirrel that loves nuts. If you know what I mean.
He is probably on croke. Barney does not have a good side, he seems to have his best moments bent over a sink in the men's room.
Drudge is about to play the tape of Terri after the removal of the tube.
Well buh-bye then.
There is such a thing as beyond the pale even in "private family matters." For example it's illegal to sacrifice little brother to a pagan god in the basement.
Not only that. This whole "private matter" arguement is idotic. The Parents have an intrest. Their intrest is being completely ignored in the desperte need of the Hysteric Left to murder this woman. When the intrest of one group of citizens conflict with the intrests of the other, the Govt has an obligation to step in and act as arbitrator. It is one of the BASIC functions of Govt in a civil soceity.
Watch out! He might start punching people any minute...
This woman is not in a vegetative state, no one really knows her level of consciousness/awareness and she surely is not dying.
What the courts have decided to do is to actively end this woman's life. This what the case should be decided upon by the Federal Courts. That is, can a district court judge sentence a person to death who cannot communicate their wishes in the matter of life or death? Why this is not the question, I do not know.
The courts have run amok for too long. Sooner or later actions will be required to restore the three equal branches of government. One does not need a religious reason to actualize this necessity, only a constitutional guarantee against run away judges enforcing their preconceived morality on all.
Ok, someone in there get back up and tell these Dems that if we can't play God, then we can't take Terri's life!
