US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

Aw, if we really loved terri and if her mom really loved terri (don't you love the arrogance of this man lecturing terri's mother!) we would let her be starved and dehydrated for 7-10 that we wouldn't subject dogs or terrorists to!

I'm betting this vote takes about 4-5 hrs.Sounds like this democrat speaking might take that long..

You are wrong there was a list on another thread of at least 14 bills that passed for individuals and were not struck down.

A person who is unconscious is still sentient. That's why we can press assault and murder charges against some one who abuses a helpless person. We still have respect for their humanity if they can't articulate anything to the rest of us. That is what is at stake in this debate - how we treat the least of us among us.

Congress has the power to take the decision away from the court. It's in the Constitution, but rarely,if ever used.

He has to stop and breathe once between each word.

Yes. People forget this is exactly how it's
supposed to work!
The courts punt, and the legislative branch steps in to address the problem.

What the demonicrats are really saying is: KILL HER, KILL HER, KILL HER. I REALLY wish I could have asked a question to the dems when they had their presser earlier today. I would have asked them dems this.
"If the end result is Terri becoming dead why don't one of you go into her room and cover her face w/ a pillow?"

Hoyer is saying nothing.
literally his lips are moving but there is no substance coming out.
The GAL report is a fake. He is a law professor who is famed for workning the ecconomics of healthcare.
The standard of review in this life and death decision is preponderance fo the evidence. 51% to make a life or death decision is pretty superficial.
The GAL report was written before the first visit.
Somebody shut Hoyer up before his makes the entire house need life support. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sinkspur would shoot his own mother if his state courts told him to.
Ouch.
Yep. Not only that, he totally doesn't understand that the courts are the Servant, not the Master, of the people.

Told someone that I wished J.C. was still in the House to speak tonight -- I would have loved for him to stand up to the liberal blacks as he so many times.
