This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they don’t want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.
When are they going to vote? Terri may be dead by the time these clowns finish this debate!
I presume that you are not aware that "permanant vegetative state" is a phrase with specific legal meaning in Florda law. Allow me to elucidate:
765.101
(12) "Persistent vegetative state" means a permanent and irreversible condition of unconsciousness in which there is: (a) The absence of voluntary action or cognitive behavior of any kind. (b) An inability to communicate or interact purposefully with the environment.
Both conditions must be satisfied to be given the label. Terri does not fall into either.
This guy Wamp is actually pretty charismatic...I'm impressed!
Congress needs to override that law as failing to provide equal protection.
More broadly, there needs to be Federal Legislation on Euthanasia.
