Mother pleads for Terri Schiavo's life

MITCH STACY

Associated Press

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Hanging their hopes on a last-minute compromise in Congress, Terri Schiavo's parents notified her hospice to prepare to have her feeding tube reinserted on Sunday, her third day without food or water.

Congressional leaders from both parties hoped an agreement reached on a bill would allow the tube to be restored while federal courts review her case. The House and Senate were expected to take up the legislation by Sunday or early Monday. If passed, President Bush planned to sign it.

But Mary Schindler pleaded for parents nationwide to call their congressional representatives and pressure them to vote for a bill to prolong her daughter's life.

"There are some congressmen that are trying to stop this bill," she said outside her daughter's hospice. "Please don't use my daughter's suffering for your own personal agenda."

SNIP

Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla., issued a statement late Saturday saying he will make an objection that would stop the vote Sunday. Any member can demand that a majority of members be present to do business. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., said he was trying to gather enough votes to defeat the bill Monday

There way out is to look at it as a "Domestic Violence Case"
, and check records of events....

They need the FBI to look at case, and for the sake of this nation do it ASAP ! After FBI/IRS finish investigation(s)
, then decide ! But what do I know, this case is easy to figure out once you LOOK at the details ! Lazy people don't look at the evidence's....This case belongs in Criminal Courts systems not Civil Court. That's the real problem with these NUT cases , but maybe this was God plan all along. So, we all can SEE the REAL EVIL FACES of those that are for murder of the poor,weak,and DISABLED.....
Never, never forget them, I won't if there is a 2006 election...If

Here they are talking about "conscience". Barney Frank, Wexler (FLorida), Jim Davis (Florida), Debbie Wasserman (Florida), etc.

They keep saying these were Terry's wishes

That was here say from Michael and his brother

Which in a normal court would not be allowed

My husband and I turned the channel as soon as the first idiot up to the podium opened his mouth and started to say what a sad day it was - I only hope that on election day everyone remembers their names and on judgement day God remembers!

I would have to say parents having problem with a child in law, suspecting the worse in a bad situation is pretty much central casting.
A young person collapsing from K deficiency is more common than an individual waking from a vegetative state and claiming their spouse was the cause. Well, except on Lifetime movies.

What I don't understand is why the physicians of this country who well understand the starvation process and the agonies it induces are not speaking out on this.

Maybe they are and I just don't know about it. Or maybe they would like to but are blocked by the Democratic-controlled mass media. The latter situation would not surprise me at all.

You might want to read this which I posted on another thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1366658/posts?page=71#71

See the following, a sworn statement from a girlfriend of the estranged husband:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regarding that alleged conversation [that Terri supposedly said she would want to die in such a situation] -- Cindy Shook said that Michael Schiavo said:
"How the hell should I know, we never spoke about this, we were young."
That is your right. I would not want to live like a vegetable myself. But, I would make dang sure to have it in writing.
All we have are the husband's claims along with his brother and brother's wife.
I'm capable of believing both that Michael Schiavo is a jerk who think the world owes him something and that Terry would likely have chosen not to be sustained in her current condition.
I cannot believe they are trying to compare Republicans wanting the amendment on marriage to the sanctity of marriage here. There is no sanctity of marriage he is shacked up with another woman and has 2 kids by her and was already involved with her longer than 7 years ago so prior to when he decided Terri should die.
Precisely. And having this particular display of democrats lecture to me about the sanctity of marriage, is absolutely nauseating.
Even if Terri did say she wouldn't want to live like this (which I don't believe she did in her early twenties) people do change their minds once something like this happens to them. There is usually a strong will to live no matter their condition.
Senator Frist actually said on the Senate floor on Thursday, that an accurate diagnosis could not be made without multiple PET scans and observation for an extended period of time---
ok. question for you:
aside from the constitutional/legal issues, even aside from should she live or should she die, is it ok (in this country) to let her die in the way she is currently dying?
