Attorney: Terri Cried at News

An attorney for Terri Schiavo said the severely brain-damaged woman cried and yelled out that she wants to live after being told today her life-sustaining feeding tube was about to be removed by court order.

Barbara Weller was in Terri Schiavo's room at the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla., when the encounter took place, according to activist Randall Terry, who spoke with WorldNetDaily from outside the building as demonstrators continued a vigil.

If true, the report apparently refutes the court's finding that Terri Schiavo is in a "persistant vegetative state" and cannot currently express her wishes. Her husband, Michael Schiavo, contends she had indicated she would not want to live in such a condition, but parents Robert and Mary Schindler dispute that and suspect he is responsible for the 1990 incident in which oxygen to her brain was temporarily cut off, causing severe brain damage.

Weller essentially told Terri Schiavo, "You had better say you want to live or they will kill you. Just say you want to live."

Schiavo responded with a drawn out, "IIIIII," then screamed out "waaaaaaaa" so loudly that a police officer stationed outside the room came in.

The officer then ordered Weller removed from the room, according to Terry.

The event was witnessed by Terri Schiavo's sister Suzanne Vitadamo and Suzanne's husband Michael.

"I talked to Suzy and Michael, and they both said it was unbelievable," Terry said. "It was very articulate, for Terri, but they also say this is normal [for her to communicate]."

Terry explained the family says Schiavo often is talkative, though similar to a 10-month-old.

"The words usually are not discernable, but she's responsive to commands, uses slow diction and her voice lilts to show emotion and context," he said.

Weller teared up after hearing Schiavo respond today, Terry said, and indicated Schiavo was crying.

Terry has established a website, helpterri.com with information about how to get involved, including phone numbers of lawmakers and details of a rally and lobby-training sessions to be held next week in the Florida capital, Tallahassee, beginning Monday.

"We need people there Monday night, people who have never lobbied before, to come, and we're going to be begging the [Florida] Senate to get its act together," Terry said.

and ONE angel-of-death JUDGE kill Terri,
you can kiss my @ss,
and ALSO kiss your majority GOOD-BYE

FIND A WAY to return her to her parents,

You seem to have all of the insight. Care to tell us where you got your MD doctor?

That's a good point. If this is true and saving Terri's life is that important, stop talking, make a sworn statement and run with it!

Hospice units do not have doctors available at all times.

This is not a hospital.

We need people there Monday night,

Saturday afternoon would be better.

One would think this would be noticed by the doctors.

Who said and did nothing? Could be. Could be those kind of doctors, and what with all the 'national issue' and legal issues they face, here. It would be easy to find out. Just ask the cops who were there. What did they hear? What did they see?

I prayed all day that she would do just this sort of thing.
Say a word...say -anything-.
At this point, I believe that if Terri leapt onto a tabletop and quoted the preamble to the Declaration of Independence in its entirety, her "doctors" would still publicly judge it a residual, primitive autonomic quirk and declare her brain dead.

I find this to be a load of crap.

Maybe... but since Judge Greer hasn't even visited Ms. Schiavo himself (despite his long standing as her official legal bulwark) and has very carefully exercised complete control over access to her (and has reportedly destroyed records germane to the case), it has now become imperative that genuinely unbiased and impartial people determine where the truth actually lies. I generally wonder why any judge - or other interestd party - would object to some sunshine.

Agree.

But her sister did say she tried to talk today.

Unfortunately, I agree that her 'doctors' are highly suspect. (There are plenty of 'doctors' who brutally slaughter unborn babies........why should we automatically trust them all?)

That's why I cheered when I heard that Dr. Bill Frist was calling for her to have a complete medical exam with an MRI (which as I understand she has never had).

The truth of the extent of her brain damage must be made public.........that she, in fact, is not brain dead....

This is certainly a false rumour started by Terry in a bid to rally public support, or Barbara Weller simply lied to Terry, knowing this word would spread through him. Weller made a public statement earlier today that did not include the information. If it had happened, it would be a simple matter to record it and establish Terri's ability to choose her own fate.

This has become a campaign of disinformation on both sides. Public pressure is important, because by getting people incensed enough to act, they will continue pressuring elected officials or judges to act. It's a smart strategy, perhaps the only one left.

I know many people want this to be true, but it isn't.

Hi,

I live in Boston and have been following Terri's case for awhile now. On December 17,2002, My friend had a stroke and became comatose. The doctors at Boston Medical Center wanted to remove him from the ventilator claiming he was in vegetative state. His son and I refused. 5 and 1/2 weeks later he turned his head, opened his eyes, and wrapped a few fingers around mine. It's spooky to me that Doctor's are allowed to do this. I've also worked for doctor's for over twenty years and I can tell you as a secretary, they often confuse MD with GOD.

then it means nothing. without the police officer confirming that it happened i don't see it of any use.

irregardless America should be ashamed of this murder.

You know, I've been trying to stay up on all the news regarding Terri today, and it has been really hard, with all the separate threads starting constantly as different news filters in.

I wonder if we shouldn't have a daily thread, starting tomorrow to try and consolidate all the news as it happens, like we did during OIF. If it's kept in the sidebars, maybe everyone can congretate there, concentrate of the latest news/calls for action, etc.

What do you think? I'm not sure who would be the best one to lead it, I know there are many FReepers down there outside the hospice, but I can't think of their names right now. I'm going to be on the road tomorrow at 5am, and can only check in sporadically.

Judge Greer is above the law, is part of the group wanting the ability to kill and is not in contempt by ignoring the supoenas.

Stay away from Florida and never live there if you are elderly or weak.

The death culture thrives there and after this will be even stronger. Look for a rash of more spouses suddenly remembering that the partner claimed they would not want to live if .........

You would prefer the democrats running the country? Or will you leave. Because all that stands between euthanasia and unlimited abortions up to 8 months is a republican president and congress. I think your position is extreme and overly dramatic.
