Press conference: John Couey confessed to abducting and murdering Jessica
They normally stay quiet until the execution date nears. Besides, he's in California so he'll never get executed.
At least this scuzz did his deed in Florida so he could possibly get a date with Ol' Sparky.....after about 20 years of being kept on tax-financed "life support".
I'd like to see where they said that. Refusing to hear the case is much different then declaring that she had due process.
The same side as President Bush.
They let this man out of jail look at his record:
"Couey's criminal history spans more than three decades and 24 arrests, including multiple arrests for burglary, carrying a concealed weapon, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, larceny and drug charges."
"In 1991, Couey pleaded guilty to felony charges of sex offense against a child, fondling a child under age 16 and lewd and lascivious conduct"
What a shame, why not keep a man like this in jail?

So sad. Prayers for Jessica and her family.
It's time to keep these scumbags in jail with absolutely no parole, no bail, no nothing!!! It's quite obvious to a normal thinking person that they can't be rehabilitated!!!
Jessica wasn't left alone. Her grandparents were in the house.
Is it possible Jeff is discovering that his mouth is making him unpopular with people?
And you and Hildy make such a persuasive tag-team.
Maybe you could find a more appropriate thread to trash Terri's supporters on. People are mourning a murdered child here.
Dammit, this stinks.
I made a statement; if you don't agree with it fine; it's you who are mucking up this thread.
Probably on the job. He's a truck driver.
It's truly unfortunate, but the Virginia ACLU is composed mostly of the sort of lawyers that are leading the whole legal system, both judges and lawyers, into deep jeopardy.
Notice the public's concern regarding the killings in Atlanta ~ the only sympathy being expressed was for the Court Reporter, and the lady who was a hostage.
The judiciary is in trouble when no one particularly cares if a judge gets shot at the bench, and God help the lawyers when that becomes common.
BTW, my Great Grandfather was a lawyer who died from what used to be an occupational hazard ~ histoplasmosis. You got that from the pigeons that used to flock on the roof where he practiced. No one else but one of his 10 sons wanted to be a lawyer after that.
All nine members of the United States looked at the case yesterday -- not just one -- because of its importance.
The ONLY reason for them to deny it and send it back was due process.
Prayers for the Lunsford family.
Oh don't you know............we must be overly considerate of criminals and make sure their lives are not too disrupted or that they are not discriminated against.
Obviously being registered as a child molester is a plus but it does not stop a single action. Extremely troubling !!!!
Oh Lord, what a sad, sad day this is. Jessica's father will never forgive himself for going out that night, even though he wasn't at fault for what happened. I just hope they find her so they can bring her home.
I heard the announcement and cried.
How can we change the law. Covicted child molestors should not be allowed out; especially committed multiple times. There is a nice rock on San Francisco Bay called Alcatraz. I would agree to a tax increase to fix up the "Rock" and house these people there. I know this won't happen, but something must be done, too many Jessicas.
Local news showed crime tape surrounding the perp's property, although none of the search dogs alerted shortly following Jessica's disappearance.
Prayers going up for Jessica's family, especially her dad and grandparents.
I'd like to have 5 minutes alone with that scum.
My 21 year old cousin was brutally murdered, and the trial starts in August, so I somewhat know what the family is going through. Her mom can barely function, and the trial has been delayed many times. Like Stephanie's killer, he should have been behind bars when the murder was committed. We can thank our liberal court system for that one.
Hopefully, the murderer of Jessica's trial will be swift and harsh.
So sad.
