A spokesperson for Michael Schiavo says Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed Friday with Michael in attendance.
He says a prayer service was held first, and that Michael was emotional and crying, saying he wanted to put the situation behind him.
Terri Schiavo's parents, the Schindlers, visited with Terri Friday morning, prior to the tube's removal.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer denied two U.S. House of Representative emergency motions Friday, which allowed the tube's removal.
The first motion was to intervene in the case for the House Committee on Government Reform and the second motion was to push the date back nine days so it could conduct what it calls a field investigation concerning the healthcare of Schiavo.
A neurologist appeared at Terri Schiavo's Pinellas Park hospice center Friday with a TV screen to show video of patients he treated that were in worse condition than Schiavo and got better.
The tube has already been removed. Greer is blowing off Congress's subpoenas -- I bet this will not be the end of this. Of Terry. Last time the tube had been removed for two days before it was reinserted. Another time, the same. I'm not giving up praying, that's for sure. Remember that really VILE Pope who was ordered re-instated on the Chair but DIED on the way into Church? That's what I am praying for -- Greer's toast, IMHO. And MS can join OJ on the golf course, too. He won't be sleeping well, I'll hazard a guess.
You know, I don't think there is any question that nobody would WANT to live like Terri is living. The issue is, unfortunately, she has found herself in this situation with no living will.
The issue becomes that we, as a civilized society should be saying that if we have ANY doubt, and we DON"T REALLY KNOW, as to how much consciousness is there, we HAVE to decide in favor of life.
She is not terminally ill. She is mentally incapacitated and can no longer eat or speak for herself.
Should the doctor have been required to say "Hey Let's do more" when there was no chance of recovery??
If you or your relative was diagnosed with a terminal illness and chose to live without medical treatment, would it then be ok to expedite your impending death by not allowin you nourishment. No, you would be provided nourishment until your body failed you DUE TO THE DISEASE.
Terri is not terminally ill, she is mentally incapacitated.
There are too many questions .. we have to decide in favor of life.
Have a living will, people.
This is terrible, I hope the people in Florida rise up and fight this...this is murder.
He says "Wear your shame!"? Ha the nerve. He will be happy if she dies.
Between the Legislative and Executive branches, surely we can find some armed MEN to take custody of Terri.
If your life belongs to God, and if you live by faith rather then site, then why not defer such a decision to Him?
Your inference is correct. She has been a vegatable for 16 years and could not live without medical assistance. For me God has spoken at that point. My wife certainly knows that I would not want to live like that.
No. I don't. Usually families who have loved ones in hospice do not need the courts.
Much as you want someone to take rage out on, I am not the one responsible for your grief, or Terri's. I merely wanted to comfort those who fear she will be in pain to have faith that she will not feel pain. That's all.
Mike Schiavo's attorney on CNN now. He's getting loads of face time, spouting lies, getting no challenges by the press. He said that congress' subpoena of Terry was a political ploy. Why isn't he challenged?
All we can do is hope George Felos meets to same fate (ò¿ó)
they all need to burn in hell!
My 9 year old daughter falls in that category.
Better get a Living Will, or FReepers will try to "save" you - whether it is your will or not.
No, if she did any of those things we be hearing how inhumane this all is.
And just what is her will? Schiavo is LYING about what her will is.
they have been called upon frequently! Thanks
I kept scratching my head trying to figure this out and finally I think you meant to say lie. Didn't you?
But she will not die of starvation without her tube. She will die of dehydration. It takes over a month to die of starvation and from 7-15 days to die of dehydration.
Felos is as rabid about "the right to die" as Kovorkin and the pro-choicers...aka pro abortionists, aka pro kill an innocent babies. The cult of death, yet some of them will protest the death penalty for proven murderers. The sheer hypocrisy of these conflicting views is mind numbing.
I love the way Felos told the press that the Senators should hang their heads in shame---
They voted for it last night---I think they all knew what would happen to them next election if they openly voted to murder this poor girl---
This lawyer just is as crooked as John Edwards with the millions he made off of bogus cerebral palsy claims!!!
