Greer gives order
What makes the entire argument even more unbelievable is the number of well-meaning people who have lovingly ended the lives of wives or husbands who were irretrievably, terminally ill and ended up in prison after they did precisely what their loved ones clearly wanted them to do.
I just wonder how Greer would have ruled in cases of that type? I'm pretty certain that he feels complete detachment from the ultimate act of killing this lady, who's done nothing more than marry a cold, uncaring, vicious man. By contrast, the men and women who ended the suffering of a wife or husband (for which they ultimately, knowingly and righfully paid a price) exhibited the bravery to do the deed themselves and accepted responsibility for it.
Who cares whether she is brain dead? What does brain dead mean anyway? There are actually dozens of definitions of brain death used by hospitals depending on whether they want to use the organs or not and whether the family members are prepared to let these "dead people" die. You are dead when your heart stops beating (for good) and you stop breathing. Terri is breathing and her heart is beating - she is alive!
I always want to know, how in the h*ll could anybody possibly know this?
I listened to a woman on the radio yesterday who had suffered a massive stroke. In a coma for 70 days. After she came out of it had to have extensive re-hab. She said at one point they had to remove her feeding tube for six days because of some medical problem. She was not able to communicate how horrible it was starving like that. She said her husband was by her side all the time.
I'd rather watch Congress grill Judge Greer than Mark McGuire.

She believes in life, and even if she did not I could not kill....she would have had to leave it in writing so that others like you would kill her.
So basicaly he is a coward. He doesn't mind letting someone die a slow, painful death but he doesn't have the balls to "pull the trigger" so to speak. Sick.
It was exactly one year ago today when our family said goodbye for the last time to our loving father, who had been in hospice care. The room was filled with all his family at the time just the way he wanted it.
Terri deserves at least that.
"Feeding tubes have been in existence since the late 1800's! This is not a new technology!"
THANK YOU!
Judges have severed parental rights for less abuse.
Her parents see her when her former husband allows them to. Considering they're at cross-purposes (they want her to live, he wants her dead), I don't think there's chance in hell they get to see their daughter.
This is sick beyond belief.
There is NO evidence that she said any such thing. and Michael saying it is NOT evidence.
If it wasn't for him standing in the way, it is possible that she could have had rehab and HUMANE treatment and improved by now.
Michael has NOT allowed Terri any rehab. He's not allowed visitors. He's not allowed dental care. She had an infection, uh..bladder? (I don't remember) and he wouldn't let her be treated. The curtains in her room are closed. She's not allowed sunlight. Anyone who HAS worked with her, and has seen and documented PROGRESS, has been ordered OUT of her life.
Michael is living with another woman. Michael has two children with that woman. He could divorce her and be done with this.
Why?
That´s exactly the point: it was meant as a constitution for a union of sovereign states. IT WAS MEANT! It is no longer, since nobody seriously says Florida, Michigan or Oregon were sovereign states. The powers of the states and the federal stage need to be reformed.
That was my point as well. That's why I put "forced" in quotes 8-)
Phrase it a bit more simply.
Would you kill your mother after denying her care and therapy for 15 years?
There is a difference between removing life support and a feeding tube. No I would not have left my parents starve to death. I would not let them starve to death my husband or son. I have worked in both psych and a nursing homes. If I had treated any of my patients the way Terri has been treated I would be held both civilly and criminally liable. I would would deserve any punishment meted out to me.
Unproveable. You have only the heresay of parties with a conflicting interest.
The pro-death crowd who think more about their agenda that kindness.
I don't know, I turned on the TV just as he was saying that.
