Greer gives order
That is just so tender and sweet. Thank you for sharing.
There is much emotion running on these threads. You need to separate fact from fiction.
The Governor is the one with the militia.
The judge has none.
There's an interesting tidbit from history which I think is pertinent here.
When President Andrew Jackson and Chief Justice Marshall had a difference of opinion once, Jackson said, (paraphrasing): Let him try to enforce his ruling.
Have we really reached the point in this country where a judge has more power than the executive branch?
Unfortunately, we have some of those very "pro-death" folks right here on FR - just look through the posts on this thread.
Heard that attorneys for the Congressional Commitee are en route to Florida...
Where were the police who are guarding her from those evil pro-lifers? Did they witness this?
If you are correct, and Terri Schiavo is "brain dead", how do you explain THIS post, from another thread:
To: freepertoo
From Cheryl Ford:

???
Sounds like suicidal tendencies in the face of adversity. So be it.
If that's the case, then yes: it does not make sense. ...until you consider how intensely he has been trying to terminate her...so what DID trigger that "chemical imbalance"? hmmm? Funny, it all makes sense if he's guilty of attempted murder...
FYI, he was a victim of media disinformation. I think he understands now.
You are an angel! What a sweet story. Thank you. A feel-good story in the midst of all the ugliness.
Thats you.
Have you got your living will in order?
So if she has nothing, feels nothing, knows nothing, and there is a SLIM chance she could get better where is the manifest harm?
If she can't feel or percieve then she is not suffering. The court concluded she is "not there" so there is no suffering to be felt by their own logic.
The democrat party has never been for civil rights. That's a big lie.
Good post. Hugs.
Now it's an issue of pride.
That story someone posted about Terri communicating today that she wants to live, that she doesn't want the feeding tube removed, is heartbreaking.
It seems to me that her current communications on this topic should outweigh Michael Schiavo's memory of a conversation far in the past, which is apparently the foundation of Greer's order.
What are they so afraid of in terms of letting people see her and judge for themselves?
And I do have a question--how did that woman lawyer get into Terri's room and have the "conversation" with her (and who does that lawyer represent)? I though Michael didn't want anyone in there?
A pardon does not, and can not, apply in this case. This entire issue seems to revolve about the deference (and abrogationof authority) of the executive and legislative branches to the jucicial - at both state and federal levels. The prevailing attitude seems to be, "Oh well, a judge said 'no'." It is long past time to make some of these judges personally accountable for their "interpretation" of the law. I just can't believe that Schiavo's claims stand up in any court in the land, given statements that he made in his malpractice suit.
