You people really should read the constitution. States have powers over and above the feds. The feds have very few powers relating to the internal workings of a state. The state judge has every right to overrule the federal judge and that is the way it should be. You people are trying to break all sorts of laws, constitutional and other wise, to uphold your good intentioned but wrong headed views about Terri. SHE IS BRAIN DEAD. That means she can't recover.

Some of us do need to read the Constitution. And some - like you - need to read up on this case.

So true.... liberals fight to overturn moral and just orders even as they fight to overturn the wisdom of the ages.

I would suspect that the attorneys for the committee are on the way to the Federal Court now.

URGENT

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) -- The presiding judge in the case of Terri Schiavo ruled Friday that the feeding tube keeping the brain-damaged woman alive can be removed despite efforts by congressional Republicans to block the move by seeking her appearance at hearings.

Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer refused a request from U.S. House attorneys to delay the removal, which he had previously ordered to take place at 1 p.m. EST. Greer determined that it should go forward about an hour after another judge issued a temporary delay blocking the tube's removal.

There was no immediate word on when the tube might be removed.

Isn't this blatant contempt?

It certainly sounds like it to me.

I am not a lawyer or a politician, and maybe a state judge or a governor can defy a branch of the federal government, but Governor Wallace certainly didn't succeed.

You better look up what "brain dead" is. Nothing worse than a nimrod who thinks he knows what he's talking about and knows half of little

I don't like the congressional issuing of the subpoenas either. Totally a misuse of congressioanl power. However Greer has really stepped in sh-t here. The congressional subpoenas provide an order of protection to the witness. This is now the feds interfering in a state matter any longer. It is a state judge essentially killing a witness and it will not stand. Regardless, of how absurd it is for her to go testify, he now was powerless to remove the feeding tube until March 28, when she would fail to show up for the hearing.

Rush just reported that Greer turned away the attorney for the U.S. House of Reps and ordered the removal of the tube to proceed.

To hell with Greer's order. It has no force since it's evil.

Jeb should send in the staties. He would be fully justified in doing so.

A "doctor" on Dayside said it's not starvation as we know it. Terri has no feelings. Oh, she may feel uncomfortable as her tongue swells and her mouth dries but they fix that with an oral spray and vaseline on her lips. She won't be in pain. Don't you feel comforted? Wonder if this "doctor" is a member of the Hemlock Society.

Why won't the judge allow oral feeding then? One of the reports I read said Terri CAN swallow. The Judge has barred her from being fed orally.
