**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
What? LOL, if true!
I'll FReepmail you. Posting it on-thread will have the capacity to offend, methinks.
I cannot help but wonder if the CONSERVATIVES on this site has stopped to think about the ramifications of this circus today.
You, too? Prepare to be hammered.
Amen.
Some days you just have to give the hornet's nest a good solid WHACK! with a big stick.
That's true.
(No idea why a doctor would make such a statement.)
Oh my, I just did a google on him and his association in this case and it's almost comical.
Apparently so. This cat posts last week that he hopes that Terri survives, but that her parents and supporters did a poor job in trying to save her. Now he's claiming that she's a vegetable.
I respect freepers like Hildy who don't BS their way around a topic. But claiming to want one thing while doing everything to advance the oppisite argument gets tiresome.
ROTFLM*O!!!
Florida judges almost gave us Al Gore in 2000 and the SCOTUS had to make a ruling. In this case another Florida judge has made a ruling and told Congress to go stuff it to put it bluntly. Until this happened with Greer, it was my understanding that a Congressional subpoena took precedence over any State Ruling. Florida judges have taken State's Rights way too far or should I say when it suits them. I support States Rights to a point but Greer has gone beyond that point.
This Country was founded with the Declaration of Independence which applies to all citizens. As far as I am concerned, she is being denied her unalienable right to life by Greer!
She is not a vegetable because she breathes on her own which makes me wonder why she hasn't had what most would consider the proper therapy all these years while her "pseudo" husband has spent the money on lawyers. Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital here in Oklahoma has taken people that were told they could never walk again, spending countless hours with them so they can walk again, or stroke victims speak again, or be able to even button their shirt. Why give up on someone until everything has been tried. There is so much more that can be done today then there was even five years ago. What's wrong with Florida?
Floridians need to take note that they have the most corrupt judicial system most of us have witnessed and do something about it or they could be next in line to having a judge determine their right to continue to live!
Hello troll. You're easily recognizable by your frequent use of the euphamism "let this poor woman die," in place of the accurate phrase "murder this poor woman." Please take some out before submitting any more posts, and read the following statement from our founder. It explains what we support, and what we don't. If you don't agree with the ideals of this site, maybe you'd be happier elsewhere.

I think if I posted that action, people would stone us all.
She can take care of herself.
If they don't find one, it appears that any "individual who has some significant relationship" can get it sent up. Obviously a court will also have to decide what "some significant relationship" means ... ex-husband ? present secret lover? priest?
One thing's for sure...a whole lot of people are now wondering if we're actually as nutty as the Left claims.
This case does tug at your heart, and wrenches your sensibilities in every possible way. In the end, it is in God's hands. It is hard to settle with that, when we are all so wrapped up in having some "control" on both sides of the issue. But, life, is God's to save or take. He will decide. That is the anguish of death, we have no real control. I just pray and pray for her peace - wherever that might be.
And I find your attitude toward disabled people disgusting. If you have the right to kill anyone you find disgusting, this can get pretty messy.
I know.....it just stuck me funny.
