It's been a rough few days for all of us. It's very good to have you back.

May this mother's child be keenly aware of Your Presence this night ... may the Holy Spirit grace her with a sense of calm and comfort as she awaits the justice long denied. Let not any one come near who would hasten her suffering, for the governments of men are ready to snatch her from the lion's mouth. Send her tormentors away, O God, never to return. Deal with each one in righteous judgment, that the world would see that one cannot trifle with the Authority of God. Sustain mother and father and sister and brother in their agony ... deliver them soon, O God, from the torments of hell they have endured for their beloved child. You know, watching Michael's pathetic performance on Nightline this past week was a revelation. I was always willing to give a tiny bit of credence to Michael's assertions that Terri told him, "No tubes for me" way back when.

But that vanished as I saw him react very badly to the critical question.
He seemed stunned, caught off guard, and he looked and sounded like a LYING man as he gave an incoherent answer.

This transcript excerpt does NOT do justice to the visual and auditory experience of watching him try to answer this question, which goes to the
heart of his case. His eyelashes were blinking a mile a minute.
The transcript captures nothing of this, or of his stuttering delivery.

For a husband who is supposedly fighting a courageous crusade to fulfill his wife's wishes, he seems terribly unsure of himself.



BURY: She had verbally expressed them in what context exactly?

SCHIAVO: Through watching some TV program, a conversation that happened regarding her uncle that was very ill.

BURY: And how long ago was that?

SCHIAVO: Oh, we're talking -- it's now been 15 years. We're talking a couple of year, three years before this happened to Terri.

BURY: So there's no kind of written record at all. It's basically your recollection and those of other family members.

SCHIAVO: Yes, it is.

This tug-of-war between Congress and the Pinellas/FL courts is a real roller coaster. Things have been great one minute, abysmal the next, for several days now. As to whether Terri's safe now that Congress has acted, I have to take a "believe it when I see it" attitude. I'll assume she is not safe until she's out from under control of the hospice, Felos, Greer, and Mikey.

I have Freeped all day, and got nothing else done. :)

I heard him say it when they interviewed him yesterday. With all this back and forth, all the ups and downs, channel surfing, and getting so emotional about this horror, I just don't remember which station broadcast that interviewrf him. I can promise you that he did say "she's the love of his life."

URGE CONGRESS TO PASS COMPROMISE TERRI'S LAW!

The leadership of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives have now
agreed on a bill that would give the Schindlers the opportunity to have their
claims that their daughter's starvation violates her federal constitutional
and statutory rights heard in a federal court. HOWEVER, THE COMPROMISE CAN BE
DERAILED BY A SINGLE OBJECTION IN THE SENATE, AND DELAYED BY A SINGLE
OBJECTION IN THE HOUSE.

The feeding tube that Terri Schindler Schiavo needs to live was removed at
approximately 1:45 PM EST on Friday, March 18. The fact that she has begun the
process of slowly dying of thirst and starvation heightens the critical urgency
of your taking needed action immediately. Only when both houses have passed
the bill and the President has signed it can the Schindlers go into federal
court and obtain a court order to reinsert her feeding tube.

Your help is needed TODAY to contact your senators and representative and
urge them to support the compromise Federal Terri's Law. It is especially
important to contact Democrats in the Senate and House.
