As rovers and orbiters continue to scour Mars for more signs of water and the potential for extraterrestrial life, space scientists and enthusiasts are champing at the bit to put humans on the red planet.

space scientists and enthusiasts are champing at the bit to put humans on the red planet. Where did they get that impression? All I've seen is bitching and moaning from space scientists that their own precious little projects may not get fully funded to pay for the VSE.

Would you go knowing the chances of return were virtually non existent? My wife and I were talking about it last night. We both decided that we would go if the other has already passed away and we were still healthy enough to carry out a one way mission.
