Kerry Pacer was used to the whispering behind her back, the name-calling and the snickering when she walked down the hall. But when almost the entire student body at White County High School booed as she accepted a rose from a female friend during a Valentine's Day (news - web sites) program last month, she knew it was time to do something.

"Just admit that you don't believe in the Bible."

Not in the way you describe it, no I don't.

Maybe it could be better described that I don't believe in "sin" so much as I believe in "right" and "wrong".

So, bullying is "intimidation", and should be outlawed. When your boss threatens you with losing your job if you don't perform, that's "intimidation", which equals "bullying", and should be outlawed in your Utopia: go to jail. You "intimidate" your children by threatening loss of privileges unless they behave properly: go to jail. You "intimidate" another driver by having a larger vehicle: go to jail. You "intimidate" an opponent on the court at the gym because you're three inches taller: go to jail.

At the risk of repeating myself, we already have laws against battery and assault. If you want to open up the can of worms of "intimidation", you are, by definition, a nanny-stater.

Well, I really tried to read the whole article, but it was too nauseating.

Queer is not normal. Why do you think they call it "queer," dumb@ss? Not you. I mean the moron the article is about.

"But this fire-and-brimstone "repent-ye-wretched-sinners" stuff is just a load of crap. I am a conservative, yes, but that school of thought is not what I care to be associated with. No thanks."

You one of those Log Cabin Republicans....or just a run-of-the-mill athiest? Either way....that school of thought is NOT what I care to be associated with.

"And I still can't understand why the high mortality rate, suicide rates, and higher drug abuse problems associate with the homosexual lifestyle aren't worthy of consideration when the MSM talks about gays"

For the same reason the high emotional stakes, depression rate and breast and cervical cancer connection, not to mention the guilt factor, aren't considered when talking about abortion....it doesn't fit the agenda.

Nope.

or just a run-of-the-mill athiest?

Nope, strike 2. I'm just not a fundamentalist. I save some room for reason and judgement.

Either way....that school of thought is NOT what I care to be associated with

Which school of thought would that be? Common sense?

Heaven forbid anyone speak the truth about the negative consequences of homosexual behaviour or abortion. They keep those "homophobe" and "insensetive" labels in a holster on their belt, and they draw in the blink of an eye. (they have lots of practice)

"I think that bullying, violence, etc., are certainly not the way to deal with gays and lesbians."

I'm not sure I would consider the booing, bullying. Social pressure, particularly from peers, has always been a most effective way of enforcing acceptable behavior in a culture. The idea behind it is to restore the one who is wayward to the fold. I think it is a natural thing, and not altogether bad, although it certainly can be used wrongly.

"This little reprobate from Georgia Baltimore would do well to listen to the "boos" that were directed her way."

Fixed that for you. I take it kinda personal when yankees come down south and try to tell us how to live.
