Why would he ask for directions to a mall? IMO...Meant nothing. It was just a way to approach the victim.
To: Vigilantcitizen
HIs truck, badge, and gun are gone.
That badge is going to be a REAL problem.

So he knows the area because he used to live in that area.

Buckhead area of Atlanta?
Not to be insensitive, but I hope Karl Rove is not involved.

How about this possibility? Whoever did the hit on the customs agent may have thought that this courthouse killing would be an ideal distraction and decided to act around the same time. If so, we are talking about someone very shrewd.

"Something to do with the courthouse shooting? If it is, the perp is racking up so many charges that he'll never see the sun again when he's caught. I don't see the judicial system being a soft-sell on this guy."
That was a foregone conclusion at around 8:00 am yesterday. All I care about now is killing him before he kills more.

I don't see the judicial system being a soft-sell on this guy. This nightmare has only happened because they were soft on him in the first place.

I thought that was strange also! I'm pretty much staying on CNN since they're local to the story.
To: Peach
Yes that was the sentence that caught my attention as well.

I was thinking about that possibility too.

Anyone seen a picture of the dead customs agent? If he's white, less likely to be Nichols; if he's AA, then Nichols could more easily use his stolen ID.

In possession of two weapons. I hate to disagree with Chief Pennington but Id say Nichols has three weapons now
plus a truck and badge.
