In my sister's case, if she hadn't had surgery, she'd have surely died and left two children orphaned.

Perhaps her views on abortion is why she defines herself as 'mildly' pro-choice. Would you define someone who is against abortion except in cases of rape, incest and life of mother to be pro life, or mildly pro choice?
The gender of the debaters is irrelevant to the debate. Protagoras' points are not any less valid if he is male, and yours aren't any more valid because you are female.

I'm close to 50 years old and I remember a few girls who became pregnant out of wedlock and who gave their children up for adoption, and they really were profiles in courage, because to the best of my knowledge they could have aborted here in NYS, at the time. And, it's my understanding that the hospitals here were performing the abortions, calling them D&Cs. So, these young girls who suffered ostricization were heroic, especially when juxtaposed to the men who impregnated them, who suffered not at all.
Remember that scene in the first Godfather, when Michael finds out that his wife aborted his child? Even though he had whacked untold numbers of people, gangsters, really, he looked at his wife as a particularly loathsome person because she murdered her own child. A child that all of heaven and all of earth commanded and expected she would protect.

Then your blanket statement of "pro abortion is pro-death" doesn't apply. If there is justifiable reasons for killing in war, there are justifiable reasons for abortion. Otherwise, you are a hypocrite and enforcing your own set of morals on the rest of us.

I want people to BELIEVE abortion is wrong. Not just legislate it. That doesn't change hearts.
We see too much on TV and in the movies glorifying a life of wealth and ease. Children don't fit into that. Our whole society is arguing against the care and nurturing of children. I find that just as offensive as abortion.
Ya get a incomplete report...about how someone MAY feel about a subject....and then you project 4 years from now...and decide what to do.
Nothing like being calm and rational.
We have 4 years to find out about how possible candidates feel about various subjects...we can bore ourselves to tears (over and over and over and over and over) ranting and raving about them.
Personally...I'm gonna wait a while before I pass on any candidate.

Pro-lifers run the Crisis Pregnancy Centers, the Churches, the free counselling services, the adoption agencies, etc., etc., etc....

Ignore the damned "purists" here.I had two very close friends who had to undergo surgery for ectopic pregnancies and neither have any children.Both were and still are anti-abortion,but of these women had to have an abortion or she would have died! She had already had one ectopic pregnancy and was determined to have a child of her own body no matter what. The no matter what became a life and death situation when her fallopian tube exploded and she hemorrhaged so much blood and fetus/baby material that she was at death's door when she arrived at the hospital.

Oh, never mind that; you know when my sister had ovarian cancer, I mentioned on here one time that she had stem cell replacement.
I immediately was told by one of the people on the thread that she had lived long enough and didn't need those stem cells.
I've encountered a few such people. I would expect that there are churches were such people exist in far greater number than in those I attend. Further, when more conservative churches respond to the recruitment efforts of what might be described as "sin all you want--we don't care" churches, I don't hear them mention that they'll accept sinners too if they repent. Instead, the perception that comes across is that they don't want to accociate with sinners.
IMHO, churches need to have as their slogan "CHRIST WELCOMES REPENTANT SINNERS". Four words, which reveal the heart of Christianity. Too bad so many people overcomplicate it.
Your average Democrat says the same thing. "Abortions rare as possible"...that is tenderspeak for pro-choice.

I googled...Condi+Pro+Life and found nothing to state she has taken that stance.
I google Condi+Pro+Choice and it's like shooting Koi in a toliet bowl.
I think you guys are so enamored over her demographic profile that the truth doesn't matter.

BTW...I supported W twice bigtime....he's great but he ain't perfect...nor is he always right...he used to be more wishy washy on infanticide till 99....I bet Condi will tone it up too.
