Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...
McCAIN [to Bush]: Do you believe in the exemption, in the case of abortion, for rape, incest, and life of the mother?
BUSH: Yeah, I do.

We survived Billy. My state survive Jim Blanchard. We're surviving Granholm. It's not easy, but we're surviving.
We'll survive Hitlery if it happens, more so than we would with John Kerry if I may add. (and no, I'd never vote for Hillary) We'd survive her, since 1/2 of the country, including even the spineless pols in DC, hates her guts to begin with and will do anything to make sure she loses.
I think it is a poor strategy. The truth is a big constituency of Bush was people who are not antiabortion. The prolifer repubs need the prochoice pubs and vice versa.
The risk when pro lifers out of hand stay home to defeat a republican, as what happened with Bush the elder is that the republican party will move to the middle, picking up democrats, some of whom have their biggest objections to republicans who are very conservative.
I am rambling but I think the conservative wing of the republican party could be made marginal by the party moving to the middle and picking up conservative dems. And then either extreme of the pubs and dems are out in the cold, a permanent minority.
All this, "I will stay at home if the candidate is not pro life" makes it likely you will end up at home with no reason and no one to vote for and more importantly no one who represents you.
No.
I'm afraid I don't know what "mildly pro-choice" means, except that she is willing to kill babies if it's convenient.
The Republicans have the momentum moving their way, almost entirely because of what is variously known as the conservative religious or pro-life vote. That's why Daschle was voted out--because he blocked the appointment of pro-life judges. That's why Bush gained senators in a midterm election which happens very rarely. That's why Bush picked up more Hispanic votes and Evangelical votes and Catholic votes.
If the Republicans turn their backs on that progress, they will lose everything they have gained among Hispanics, Evangelicals, and Catholics. They will even kick away the chance of peeling away black voters by appealing to them as social conservatives concerned about family.
They will lose the moral high ground they have so painfully gained over the Democrats, and be seen as nothing but country clubbers and me-firsters.
Well .. I was always taught that prayers were meant/said/ask to help people .. even the ones we disagree with
You comment sure didn't seem like you gave a rats behind
They say in the foxhole there are no atheists. I believe that on Election Day there will be no ultramon...what you said ;) If Hillary is the candidate and ahead in the polls that day, I'll vote for a serial abortionist before abstaining and electing her thereby. So will all the white-hot righteous freepers flaming Rice tonight.
I hope.
I am not as sure of the republic surviving as you are. We are close to not surviving.
You and me both.
It's best to just let them call you what they'd like.
It's like Brer Rabbit and the tar baby. When someone here calls you a racist or against brown skinned folk, the more you defend, the more it sticks. Like when did you stop beating your wife or snorting coke et al.
Do like Travis McGee does. Ping the powers that be and ask them to tell the race baitors to desist. It works good for him.
We are getting a nice respite from some of the more egregious offenders right now due to travis's efforts.

Thank you. This is just too close to home, I guess.
I have a friend on the other side. She just adopted a lovely son from an 18 year old with the guts to stick it out. I have nothing but awe and love for that girl.
But you men have to remember: she will think of that child always, whether she had aborted it or given it to a loving home. Most of us women know that live begins at the moment of conception. But we know the other pains and loves that come with that. Makes it both easy and hard to judge.
I'm a little confused here - who has accused marajade of being racist? Saying someone has played the race card simply means they've accused *others* of being racist, with no basis to do so. The posts prior to hers never gave any indication that they opposed her for anything other than the abortion issue, yet she chose to insult them and accuse them of racism anyway. To suggest people are using this issue to disguise some sort of racist desire to bring Condi down is to ignore the fact that threads about a Giuliani Presidency draw the same criticisms - and last time I checked, he was neither black nor female.
Self defense, state executions, military/police actions, and in some states doctor-assisted "suicide."
And he was lumped in with the other 1.3 percent under "Other."
Good luck.
Amen!
They would not deliver the baby before it was viable, since it was still alive. By then the damage was done.
