This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
A possibility now reported- may be on foot in the Sandy Springs area...
BUT- til they nail this guy the "reported sightings" will be as wild as the Saddam sightings used to be...
When I heard Alpharetta I couldn't believe it. He works at the UPS down the street from me.
Getting the kids home and locking the doors.
I think the rape victim is his girlfriend who he also kidnapped for days--that's what he was on trial for. (this from the news)

Sorry for my cynicism though. It just occurred to me that our society is sick enough that in 2 months there will be a video game hitting the stores based on this premise, or maybe a scene in the next edition of GRAND THEFT AUTO.

What they don't have is the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater, when there is no fire. One of the rules of this forum is that posters can not incite for murder; she broke the rules. So she has to go sit in the corner for a few days.

Preaching to the choir on this sunny. But there have been some very heinous comments made by a couple of people that basically said the judge "got what he deserved...good riddance".
And that is what I was taking issue with.
And all thanks to yet another brilliant decision by the Supreme Court.
Interesting. That seems more reasonable.
I still maintain though that when this guy is caught, when he's in court again, I think they should leave the restraints on all the time, even after the jury enters. (if he even goes to trial, most likely he'll probably plead out to avoid the death penalty. Georgia has the death penalty don't they?)
About an hour ago there was a spokesmen at Grady Hospitol who stated it was her gun the Perp got the gun from.
I believe 4 people were shot and three of those have died. The fourth victim is expected to survive.
If the reports about him being out on bond are true, the SCOTUS decision has nothing to do with not being in shackels.
Stun belts are effective and do not "prejudice" the jurors. But no safeguard will work if procedures aren't followed -- and in towns like Atlanta, all is patronage and political correctness.
I wonder if the medical examiner is doing a toxicology study on the escorting deputy.
