The Lord uses crises in our health to bring us closer to Him. For some of us, it's the only thing tht will work.

Obviously, Crinton's pump is failing.

Two things are apparently obvious, and in play here. He's not getting any younger, and he's not doing himself any favors by going against his doctor's orders.

Didn't compassionate Hillary fly off somewhere?

I could have sworn she was going overseas for political attention. Surely she knew bubba wasn't feeling well.

Yup!

I agree 100000000000000 %!

;)

Rational people get it. Others draw away further and point fingers. When you think about it, outside of coercion this is one of the few things He can do to wake people up.

That would make sense and the only reason I can see for waiting. Or if he was on a medication like a blood thinner...then they'd have to wait too.

My wife's a pharmacist and she told me that if he's on blood thinners, depending on the dose, that it would be best to get off them a few days ahead of surgery.

But I think I know who told him it'd be a grand idea and a positive benefit for the Legacy... Herself.

Agreed. If Mr. HR had gone through the same thing, I'd have resigned from the Senate to care for him.

This supports my contention that it is proper to pray for one's enemies' demise, if I am interpreting it correctly.

Correct, in that it is based on varying situations.

On one hand, the same David refused to pray for Absalom's death, and he begrudgingly sent his forces against him.

OTOH, Christ says to pray your enemies and do good to those that spitefully use you. Paul says to oversome evil with good, that you heap coals of fire upon their head (Paul was being positive).

But at the same time, two people died before Peter when they lied. And Peter told Simon Magus to take his simonry and go to hell, so to speak.

It's based on the circumstances. It's not situational ethics; it depends upon factors that are brought up in each case, sort of like a judge being stricter to the man that deficates in his courtroom and more lenient to the guy that controls his bowles.

My KJV Bible that I hold in my hand simply states that if I call upon God, the LORD shall save me (Ps. 55:16). Bible Gateway confirms this. Which acknowledges what I've always belived. If you believe in the LORD, you will be saved.

Good to see someone else who saw the tweety bird(perot)and klintonese coalition in that election. Rossy boy had to blame the Repubs as an excuse for stepping out early in the primaries. Funny, how he returned undaunted to siphon votes from Bush S. Their plot worked well, along with the voter fraud. I would also wonder how many lucrative government contracts rossy-tunes received from slickster? Unfortunately, some still are hoodwinked. NSNR

Your contention that it is proper for a Christian to prey for the demise of their enemies has several problems, first and not least, it necessitates a judgement of what constitutes a deadly enemy. I don't believe that you are qualified to make this determination. Why don't you try just praying that God's will be done and leave it up to Him?

All the bantering back and forth... Can't we just leave it at that without all this chatter?

The discussion to which you are referring is probably about wrapped up. However, please note that Free Republic is a discussion forum. It’s all banter and chatter. That's the point.

Coming to Christ totally transformed him and would do the same for Slick Willie.

Yeah that might do the job but then the bypass operation did ZILCH for his soul

My grandmother died of CHF. It was the strangest thing. On Wed., my parents found her sitting on the bathroom floor too weak to get herself up. She thought she had a cold as she had some minor chest discomfort.

She went into the hospital on Thursday, did tests, and said she had a heart attack!!! By Saturday, they said she had congestive heart failure and that it was a matter of days. She died the following Monday.
